“BE AWARE! Nice, well tailored low cost kilt... However a warning for those buying online! Having received it, the waist was a little loose even on the tightest belt loop. Given my waist has not changed since submitting the measurements online, I was not able to impress on the after sales team that this was not great. Sadly, I left the chat as I was getting nowhere and will spend more getting this taken in.”

“Delivery time not met due to supplier delays but when ordering these items were in stock. However, they were extremely responsive and made alternative delivery arrangements. Very happy with the quality of my belt buckle and three kilt pins.”

Hello There Thanks for taking the time to write a review for Kilt Society. Kilts and trews are worn much higher on the body and therefore how and where you take your waist measurements from will be different from your usual trouser or jeans waist size. Kilts and trews usually sit around the naval and therefore this is where your kilt waist measurement is taken. It is likely to be slightly bigger for most people as on average most of us will go in at the waist a little. We have a handy measuring guide and and size converter on or website so I'd recommend checking it out.Hope this helps, if you have any other questions give us a shout. Maya

“Trews at 38R were very neat fit with no give in waist! Prefer the fit to be less tight. Fit more like 36R.”

“Puchased a kilt pin to replace a previous one from the Kilt Society that fell off in a train station. Delivered promptly as ordered. (Unfortunately the new one is falling off every hour or so - I need to get the pliars out!)”

Hey John, Thanks for taking time to leave us feedback. It's a real shame the kilt made it to you in this condition. We steam and check our kilts before sending them out. We find that usually if you hang the kilt up the creases will fall out. If there is anything else I can help with give us a shout! - Sarah

“Goods arrived in a timely manner, but for the price the quality was poor. A £50 Sgian Dubh that was more like a £2 trinket. A made to order £75 waist jacket in cheap nylon fabric with with plastic buttons. A cheap looking £35 sporran. In short, not a proper outfitters, but more like a trinket shop for American and Japanese tourists.”

“I needed to take my jacket to a seamstress to have the sleeves shortened slightly. When trying on the jacket and waistcoat at least half of the buttons fell off. She took them all off and attached them all properly. "The material is quite good, the sewing work not so much" her words not mine. When I got it back it fitted a treat and looked great.”

This range of jackets is one we take great pride in and it's a real shame to hear the quality of the stitching wasn't up to scratch. “I like the kilt but the knife I got on a previous order and I did not get the shirt because you were out. I was not offered a substitute. I also thought a belt was included with this order. Where is it? I Spartan, opening on the inside and not the outside was never mention. I liked it's looks but it has some design flaws ö”

“Slightly disappointing. Arrived very quickly but badly creased on front apron. Pleats creased in an uneven way so I guess I will be spending some time with an iron trying to get front apron to drape properly. Quality a bit worse than I expected, however, for the price a good buy as a spare kilt or for occasional use.”

We've recently changed the way we packaged the kilts in a way we think helps preserve the pleats, so disappointing to hear this wasn't the case. If you would prefer to send back to us so we can steam this properly for you- we'd be happy to return it to you in a better condition. The kilts really are lovely, and I'd like you to fully experience this. ~Rachel

“Yes I received my order but I paid for next day delivery and I didn't get it next day. I wasn't happy about this and I missed the function I bought the kilt for.”

“The Trews I had made for my husbands birthday are lovely, the workman ship is good, but as with all things that are not measured by the tailor, we had a small problem with the leg length being too long, and a little too baggy around the hem. I had re pinned the small changes needed and emailed the company straight away to ask if I could send them back for the alteration. I was firmly told this was not possible, they only make to the measurements we sent, so our fault if the fit was less than perfect. I feel with such an expensive item, this was really poor service. The Trews are not wearable as they are, so I will have to take them to a tailor here to adjust. Very poor customer service and follow up. Such a shame on such a nice item and such good service and help before hand, but then nothing when a small adjustment is required. Hugely disappointing all around.”
