“Overall the content of the course was good. I learnt about various new pieces of training such as asbestos and electrical safety but it could have been more engaging with video content within the slideshows. I also completed the IOSH module last but it is not clear to do so in this order. The IOSH section also repeated a lot of content already covered. During the final module quiz, I was unable to see what the correct answers wore for my incorrectly answered questions. I the templates within the IOSH module are templates that could not be edited so it was difficult to use these templates with limited text space.”

Thank you for your feedback Jordan, it is appreciated. It's worth pointing out that the IOSH managing safely course is a stand-alone course and that we offer the short courses as a free bonus. As such, the short courses go into more detail than what is covered in the IOSH course alone. They can be taken in any order you like and the free short courses do not count towards the final assessment for the IOSH managing safely course. Although you do get awarded a certificate for each short course that you complete. It's also worth mentioning that the reason limited text space is provided in the project is to encourage the student to record just what is important, rather than adding much more detail that can obscure the hazards and risks being described. I hope that helps to explain the setup that we use a bit better.

“Joining instructions for my course were easy to follow. Course materials were clear and easy to use. Ideal for me that the course could be progressed at my own pace and at a time that suited my work commitments. Especially liked the ability to review past sections and carry out the final assessment as and when I wanted. Final assessment was clear and easy to work through. Quick response to final project submission. All in all a very positive experience.”

“The course was very comprehensive and well structured. My only disappointment was that it mentions Regulations, which have since been updated - e.g., CDM 2007 instead of 2015, which has made me question whether all the information is up to date.”

Thank you for your feedback. Well spotted! CDM 2007 was mentioned in a case study in one of the courses that you undertook with us. The actual prosecution that the case study referred to took place a considerable time after the original incident, meaning that CDM 2007 was in place at the time of the incident, but CDM 2015 was in place when the prosecution actually concluded. In these circumstances, the prosecution is made under the regulations that were in force at the time, hense why the case study refers to CDM 2007 and not CDM 2015. We can see how this might make the case study look dated, but we feel that the lessons from the incident in the context of the thing we were explaining still warrented its inclusion. Rest assured though, we do regularly update our courses and we will update that case study when there is a similar prosection made under the 2015 version of the regulations.

“The course was easy and simple to access. Completed this in a few days by doing a few modules a day. The only downside is that I have no workbook at the end to look over to refresh my memory should I need this in the future. Others who have completed a face to face course do have a workbook.”

“Overall good! The process of purchasing the course, logging in, accessing the materials and completing the assessments was all very straightforward! It was great that I could do this in my own time and break it up around my other work commitments, so I didn't have to take three days out of work. The only thing I thought that could be improved, is that as you don't receive a textbook or any physical learning materials, it would be a little easier to take in if there were some videos or more interactive slides :).”
