“A thorough course with quality content and quality graphics throughout. Interactive tasks and questions embedded the learning. I would do further courses with HSQE and I would suggest colleagues to do the same. Excellent value for money in comparison to some alternative providers I previously considered.”

“The best price for an IOSH Managing Safely course and the 5 free RoSPA courses give even better value. I never required any interaction with my tutor, so cannot rate this element of the package. The course materials are basic but decent, however there are a few mistakes, one of which is crucial when answering questions in the module. So this needs to be looked at. Overall, a decent course that will give you your first step in a health and safety qualification.”

Thank you Tanya. All of the questions are cross-checked to the training materials and are externally verified. We know however, that some occasionally do get misinterpreted. One in particular, if googled, brings up an American classification, which is completely different to what is used in the EU and UK. One of the tutors has emailed you to see what question you are referring to and will explain its context.

“The online course is very good, it allows you to do the course in your own time, only down side is. I suffer with learning difficulties, its more geared towards terminology that i suffer with. However, the course has loads of information and online support is there should you need it. Its a shame that they don't offer course material so you have a book to refer to, having this would help out ten fold.”

“I had a great experience completing my IOSH Managing Safely course with HSQE. All of the information was easy to access and navigate, and I was able to complete the course at my own pace with plenty of time to get everything done. I have one suggestion for improving the course: some video content supplementing the textual info would be very welcome. I'm quite a visual learner, and it was a bit laborious at times to read through and make sense of lots of text. Also, video footage would lend itself quite nicely to the Managing Safely course, providing a way to easily give examples and highlight certain elements taught in the modules. Overall, though, the course was brilliant.”

“Found the content and modules of the course well laid out and informative. The course also covered many topics and provided good examples of situations that could arise in the workplace with well explained outcomes and solutions. However did find the wording of the questions of the final exam a bit pedantic and not always relevant to work situations. Some of the questions were not worded clearly and a bit tricky to work out exactly what was being asked. Also expected the questions would cover more of the modules features in the course. However being a member of the company health and safety committee the course did improve my skills and increased my knowledge which in turn will give me more confidence to carry out tasks asked of me in this role”

“I undertook the IOSH Managing Safely course and found it to be well presented and easily accessible. All of the content was located on a Web Portal, which only I had access to. My progress was saved as I worked through the course, however, one minor drawback I encountered was the "tick" box at the end of each section was not automatically completed and I had to refresh my Browser to fix this. Although there was a warning about this issue at the bottom of the page, it was still annoying, but it didn't affect the course delivery that much. Each section was divided into manageable chunks and included a presentation which explained a particular topic and included several quizzes along the way to test your knowledge. There were also several mock exams available which helped prepare me for the final exam. This was very useful and gave me an idea of how the exams are structured. I didn't really have to contact the tutors at HSQE, but after I submitted my final project I found out my grade the same day! Really good response. I'd recommend the course to others and HSQE as the provider.”
