“The spatchcock chicken I bought as part of the BBQ pack was tough and tasted like the chicken was stressed on despatch, it was so bad I couldn’t eat it and all I did was roast it. I have never had a chicken from you before that has tasted like this. Very odd.”

As with all natural produce, farming isn’t an exact science. Every bird is unique, and despite the same care, feed, and rearing conditions, there can occasionally be slight variations in texture or flavour. “Having bought the Chicken breast in the past several times and was impressed with the size, I found my order this time to be quite disappointing. Although the quality and taste is still outstanding, the sizes are now rather small and thin whereas before each chicken breast was large and thick. This was one of the reasons I decided to purchase from HFC as the supermarket products were not as good but now I feel I can get as hood free range from Supermarkets.”

Dear Lorraine, We are delighted you love our chicken but sorry you have been disappointed with the last order. Our birds can be quite large and hence you have had large birds and cuts before. Sadly the weather and factors often beyond our control can affect their growth and perhaps it was a smaller batch of chickens on your last order. They should have met the minimum weight stated on the website, we are just sorry its wasn't as large as normal. thank you for your support. Emma

“Herb Fed chicken is the only chicken I buy. They are happy, roaming and well fed, bred, slaughtered and processed on the farm so no 'food miles' to disturb the hens. Best of all, the FLAVOUR is wonderful and I really recommend all the farm's products.”
