Down To Earth is a multi-disciplined company offering specialist arboricultural contracting and consultancy throughout Kent and South East London.

Established in 1980 by Glenn Morris, and as one of the pioneering companies helping to establish the Arboricultural Association approved contractor scheme, we’ve grown into the largest tree contracting company in Kent securing an impressive array of clients in both the domestic and commercial sectors.

The successful merger with Greencut Horticulture in 2016 resulted in the creation of a large company that not only has the infrastructure to deal with any size job, but the modern back office systems that allow us to focus on a customer-centric model.

“We have engaged DTET twice. They have completed a difficult technical job involving a climber shaping a large yew, and a much simpler job of uprooting a dead tree and a bush. Both jobs were carried out with maximum professional attention to the customer's requirements, and with great skill. They also clear up meticulously - a contrast to some other tradesmen! “Generally excellent job, particularly renovating our old apple trees. There was some minor damage to fittings at the side of the house caused when removing branches etc but these were easily put right.”

“End to End Quality Service from quote to completion of the work. At quotation stage, I was given the best advice for the trees which meant they actually did less work than I thought was needed, and saved me money. The back office were very efficient and friendly, and all work was clearly detailed in writing in advance of my accepting the quotation. All emails were followed up by telephone calls if I had not responded, but not in such a way that I felt pressurised. The Tree Surgeons arrived on time on the agreed date, and went through the work before they started, to ensure there was nothing ambiguous. Despite the sleet and the cold the team took their time on each tree and validated whether I was happy before they moved to the next tree and then comprehensively cleared up all wood and leaves, leaving my garden tidier than when they started. A very professional service, and although, I know there are cheaper companies, this is the second time we have used them as they really care about the trees and they do a really excellent professional job.”

“I have used Greencut Horticulture (and now Down to Earth) for some years for tree maintenance. As usual their service, from initial quote to completion, was exemplary. The Company is very professional is all aspects of its work (in a field where anyone with a chain saw and a ladder thinks they can do it ! Not the case !). Their technical knowledge and advice are appreciated and the end result exactly as discussed. Thank you and see you next time.”

“The team arrived on time and completed the job without any fuss and to a very high standard. The access area and work area were left in a very tidy state taking care not to damage any of my belongings as access was through my attached garage. “I had asked for a number of jobs to be done about the garden and the Down to Earth team made sure they completed them to my complete satisfaction, and left the garden in a very tidy state. The only problems I had were minor ones as far as I was concerned; in the booking process, where their initial response was sluggish, and a postponement for a few days when another job overran. I will certainly use them again.”

“Have used Down to Earth for tree work for many years and have always found that they carry out each task exactly to specification and to the highest standard. Each operative is friendly but professional, and concerned to understand the horticultural context in each case and a customer's expectations. If expectations are unrealistic, they will say so in a polite but authoritative way. I consider their charges to be very competitive, given the high quality of work and skills on offer.”

“Down to Earth went beyond the call of duty working flat out to finish a major job in time, throughout very poor weather conditions, and until the light faded. They checked back we were happy with the work, and did some further trimming back when we asked them to. Couldn't have asked for more”
