Been with these for 6yrs, no claim for 20+ yrs, this company put my car insure up by 18pounds Without notifying me at all, lied said sent Email, got nothing. Driving a Kia estate car 20yrs old lol n I was expected to pay 498 a year big jump from 320 a year, 10 min on the web n got it down to 367 a year. People shop about they are ripping people off. Going to bad month for this company if they have done this to others 😡

Shocking service. It’s the worse insurance company that I had ever dealt with. I would advise you to avoid like the plague. You have been warned.

Gave me a quote for a four yr old astra 1.4 ( I have over 20yrs no claims) that was closer to ÂŁ600 than ÂŁ500. Every week from 5am Monday to 5pm Fri. It does not move. It is on a secure company car park. 20 min journey (no motorway) on a Monday, 20 min back on a Friday. Pop to shops on the weekend, and that was after using a black box that stated my driving was (Awesome)....10 minutes on a website and I had saved ÂŁ297.....with no black box. Look elsewhere people and the staff are terribly ignorant. I will bad mouth this company to everyone who talks about car insurance

No heating or hot water for over a week now, after 4 attempts finally got to speak to a real person, pay for premium account , to be told because I took the cover off my boiler to see if I could see if it was something simple it's not insured now wtaf, waste of space and money avoid this company like the plague, not claimed on my insurance for over 30 years, this policy is now cancelled and they can sing if they think I'm paying them another penny, it's a sub company of AXA so I'd avoid them to

I tried to update the insurance once my son had passed his test. The online account said everything was updated but when I went back in several days later the changes were not there. This happened several times. There is no way of contacting them as the phone is permanently busy with wait times of over an hour and the message facility does not get answered. I eventually took my son off the policy in Feb which said it would now only cost £33 pm but I am still waiting for that change to happen having been charged £80 for the last two months. I have tried to update my bank details with no luck as the system ‘saves’ them but when you check it’s not there. I got a message to say there is an error with my driving data and I messaged them back to say it’s in the garage waiting for my daughter to learn to drive so not in use at the moment and the policy has now been cancelled with an additional charge of £79. Would like to say it’s user error but my husband and son have also had the same problem trying to update the details. Would be great if you never needed to contact them or update your policy

I am customer for many years I called today to speak to staff for my renewal the waiting time was 15 min but was answered at 19 min and before I say hello to a lady she put down phone not only rude but wasted my time won’t recommend to anyone

Got my son’s insurance down by changing the date from when I wanted the insurance to start from, which reduced the cost dramatically, tried one to many times and locked me out! Way shouldn’t I be able to try different dates to compare the prices! Changing by 24hrs saved £300 on one quote! Wanted to choose the best quote!

Absolute scum, Emailed me threatening to cancel my insurance for not sending any driving data with the black box, despite my car not being driven and still on the driveway. In their email they said I could email back and let them know why I was not sending any driving data so I did, this led to 10 emails back and forth with them basically saying that as I am not driving I have the wrong policy and I should swap to a different policy (at an extra cost of course). Due to this I will have to go one weekly drives for no reason just so my policy doesn't get cancelled.

Someone has made a fake claim against my car insurance, claiming that my car hit them in scotland, when I live in South London and never drove there. I thought this was fairly easy to be dismissed but curioursly, as this was done just 2 months before renewal, I lost my "No Claim Discount" until Hastings "complete the investigations". Hastings don't answer my emails. Whenever I call, they suggest me to "upload evidences" which I did, but never got any responses back. I even have video evidence but the link provided by them doesn't work - and no one really cares. I'm forced to go with another insurance with a "0 years No Claim Discount" until Hastings decides to "dismiss the case". They said it could take 6 months to review. Unbelievable. Stay away from these guys.

Car policy cancelled due to the no data being sent. Car has been on the drive with no battery. They sent an email which didnt see, it may of gone to junk. But no letter until they canceled the policy. Then we received a letter. I wouldn't use Hastings ever again.

Couldn’t login to see renewal and phone cut out as they were too busy. I’ve been forced to renew with them as now my quotes are higher because I need immediate insurance. They’re scamming people to make them stay with them. I will be ready for the next renewal to stop the payment and renew with someone else. I’m surprised watchdog haven’t reported on them yet. Criminals!!!’

Hastings Direct have got 1 star - there's no option to leave 0. Atrocious behaviour - have just cancelled my daughter's insurance after 3 months of being insured - asking questions about her profession and because her profession isn't 'covered' they've just cancelled it (surely this should have been raised at the outset) and now she is being penalised due to their muck up! Furthermore they have taken half the money for the full year despite only being insured for 3 months. The staff member's attitude was also disgusting - not interested in helping and revelled in the fact she was going to cancel. Complaint is going in and if not sorted, going on social media to 1M followers

I received my renewal of ÂŁ450. up ÂŁ150 from last year, when i done an online search i was quoted ÂŁ295 when i contacted Hastings they said the price given by them was final and they couldn't get near that price. so i tole the member of staff i wouldn't be renewing with them and to cancel the automatic renewal. he told me that had been done. at 10min to one in the morning they tried to take payment, thank goodness for chase bank, any payment over the internet they contact the customer to get the payment authorized, so i declined the payment and now want ÂŁ20 from me. you cant stop the automatic renewal from the app. the link is there but it doesn't work if you click on the link you get a white screen. so it looks like customers are being ripped off for incompetent staff of its a policy to rip off despondent customers, so they don't just rip people by over charging for the renewal but rip you off if you don't accept it, it also seems they conveniently don't have any record of the 2 phone calls made.

I have been trying to get through to speak to a human for several days to advise Hastings that I do not have the car I insured with them any longer. I do not need an insurance policy any longer. When you call, you cannot speak to anyone as you are always on hold. I even tried to log onto my online account to cancel the policy and you do not have the option to cancel. The only option you have to to call a number that nobody answers. Hastings have today taken ÂŁ401.75 off my credit card for a car I do not have any longer. When you surrender your card details over the phone you expect to be informed when a payment to taken. You should not take money off people without their consent. This type of sales tactics is disgusting. Hasting Direct...You should be ashamed of yourselves. "I want my money back, you are thieves."

To be certain our customers stay insured on their renewal date, we automatically renew their policies – that’s unless customers tell us not to renew. Auto renewed policy which was cancelled on the same day. Apparently they had no record of my call to cancel my auto renewal. Refund arranged but was £20 short. Given 3 different reasons for charge, call centre fee for ringing the call centre with an online policy, policy set up fee for the policy I cancelled and then a cancellation fee!! Clueless. Would never use them again. Happened to listen to the call centre after the call had ended because they forgot to end the call. Sounded like a party. Very unprofessional. Very poor customer service. Avoid. I have asked for a copy of the recording of my call to clarify that i was lied to by the advisor. Let’s see how that goes!
