Hi there I have bought many times before with this company and consequently came back for that reason a happy customer This purchase I’m very perplexed I ordered two bags of mixed dried mushrooms Which when you open the packet and taste Has a very strong smell of cacao ( drinking chocolate powder) Which made me have the negative thought of “has this been diluted down with cacao ) Mushrooms are earthy not at all chocolate or sweet smelling I would appreciate a response to eradicate my fear of this being the case Thank you

Hi, Thank you for raising this with us. We can confirm that no cacao or cocoa powder is added to this product. Some mushroom varieties, such as reishi, chaga, or cordyceps, can naturally develop a cocoa-like aroma during drying and processing. This is a normal characteristic of these mushrooms and does not indicate any added ingredients. All batches are produced and tested to ensure they contain only the stated ingredients. Hi there, Thank you for your reivew and we are sorry to hear that some of the best before dates on the products that you have received, were not as long as you hoped. We aim to provide realistic best before dates, as we want our products to remain of great quality up to their best before date. There are a few products which we stock that typically have shorter expiry dates and these include flours, ground flaxseed, almond and chestnut flour, TVP, flakes, puffs, oils and vegetable bouillon. The dates on these products generally shorter, due to processing of the product. Please be aware that our expiry dates are best before dates and not use by dates. This means that if the products are kept as per our storage instructions for each product (as given on our website), they may even last longer than their best before date. 9 of the 24 cans og coconut milk were dented despite good packagong. I bought non dented as there isn't much saving buying dented. So rather annoying. 1 photo sent..bur 9 dented.

Their food packaging is not user friendly. My walnuts had lots of broken tiny shells making their product very unpleasant to eat.

Hi there, Thank you for your review and we are sorry that you do not feel our packaging is user friendly. We have taken great care to research and test rigorously our packaging choices, and have chosen LDPE for our plastic packaging, as this can be recycled at supermarkets and generally withstands the transportation process. We are sorry that there were pieces of shell in with your organic walnut pieces and that these made it unpleasant to eat the organic walnut pieces. As it is difficult for all pieces of shell to be removed from the walnut pieces, we do let our customers know about this on both the website listing, and also the packaging of this product. I ordered some hemp seeds which arrived damaged so i emailed support and sent a picture. Its been 2 weeks and still no reply. I’ve been ordering with them for years with no problem but it seems they can’t solve them when they arise. Would like to keep shopping with them as they’ve been reliable but now I’m out of pocket and haven’t got the product I ordered

The organic walnuts were so woody and old tasting. Very disappointing. Maybe stock sits on shelves for ages.

Hi there, Thank you for your review. We have checked and the batch of organic walnut pieces that you have received is very fresh to us. We monitor our stock levels carefully to ensure that we are able to offer our customers the very best quality and freshest products possible at all times. We are at the end of the current crop year of organic walnuts and this is why the walnuts are not as good quality as when they are first harvested. Walnuts are particularly troublesome at this time of year due to the volatile oils in them. Unfortunately, walnuts can become less sweet as time progresses after harvesting. Hi there, Thank you for your review and we are sorry that one of the boxes has been damaged in transit. We take great care to package up our parcels carefully before sending them out to our courier and are sad to see any damage on our parcels once they have left us. We think that as this has travelled to the Isle of Man, the distance it has travelled and loading and unloading into different vans/depots might have caused the damage (with perhaps a heavy box placed on top of your parcel). We are pleased to hear that all the items were still in the parcel and that nothing was lost. Please accept our apologies for the damage caused to the box in transit.

My goods were not received on time as I was travelling with them. when delivery came I was not in the country. I got an email from the Royal Mail that they returned the package as I was not there but till now I have not received my refund. While I emailed them a while ago for an explanation and refund and no response too.

Having checked the tracking details, we can see that Royal Mail attempted to deliver this on two occasions and were sadly unable to reach you. They then held the parcel at your local delivery office for 20 days, for you to collect from the delivery office. As this was not collected, this has now been returned to us. In these situations, we wait for confirmation from our customer in case there is an issue with the delivery address provided or if people are away from the address. The contents were fine. But the packaging was totally inadequate for such a heavy order. It was also too heavy for the driver to pick up. Maybe two boxes would be better. Wakey, wakey now. let's use a bit of common sense.

Hi there, Thank you for asking me to write a review, I think it was a couple of years ago I wrote to you about the bad quality of the nuts that I purchase but never received a reply from you, however, since last year, the quality of the nuts improved and I was pleased with it. However, I am not pleased with the recent purchase as the nuts are old and they should have been sold at all. So this time not pleased at all. Leila

Brazilian nuts, some of them taste like mouldy and chestnuts are not crispy, they are a bit damp. I won't order them again.

The organic brazil nuts are nearing the end of the crop year and so may not be as they were at the beginning of the season. We are waiting to receive stock from the new harvest which we hope will be shortly. We don't stock chestnuts and so we wonder if the review for the chestnuts is meant for another company. Everything is fine. But the delivery service you use (probably DHL) performs badly. Every time I requested that they might bring my parcel in front of my door (1st floor), but they never did it. Rather they just drop it near the entrance downstairs. It's not good. If next time this happens, I will reconsider my future purchase potentially. Just to mention here I am a regular customer of Forest Whole Foods.

The package was broken so we had to collect the leaked rices and wash them several times. You should care packaging method more in the case of large and heavy products.
