“Fairly straight forward.First time I have used Ecarz so was not sure if it would be ok in Bangkok. However was very good and car rental upgraded my ride.”
“Excellent price for car I needed, pick up and drop off where I wanted it. Just be aware in this case Budget again fave me the scary story regards additional "access" last time it did scare me and I paid nearly as much as the car rental itself which was about £40/50 for this 'extra' that wasn't included in policy, this time i took out a policy via moneysavingexpert.com which cost me just under a tenner. Though budget still took my credit card details, think they took £850 out, but am getting it back after I returned the car back 5 days later, apparently it gets paid straight back in, obviously inconvenience if I miss the split on my credit card payment where I will have to pay it, then get a £850 credit for the next month. Not happy with budget scaremongering twice now they have done this expect most other customers have forked up the little "extra" with there dirty tactics. But this review is for ecarz who's service & price was excellent, def use again. Thank you!”
“A really easy booking process. The car was supplied by one of the big 4 rental companies. The additional local costs made it more expensive than renting directly from the the car provider.”
“Good service overall but some concerns over having to pay CDW again to cover widows tyres etc.
Also 135 miles per day mileage allowance that I was not aware of when booked. Read the small print !!”
“Renting through the ECarz site was easy and straight forward. However you don't know the rental supplier until you have committed to the booking. In my case the supplier in Malta was Goldcar who supplied an excellent car and provided good service BUT there was a hidden cost - at the booking desk you had to pay for a full tank of fuel which included a 'filling charge' this amounted to 80 Euros ( I could have filled the tank for less than 40 Euros at local prices) and you could either bring the car back empty on fuel or get a credit for each 1/8th of a tank remaining but at a very reduced rate. This may have been somewhere in the small print of the booking but when I was comparing costs I looked at the total quoted - other companies include a full tank but you have to return the car full which seems fairer as you pay for the fuel you use at the local rate.”
“I have no problem with easycar. But the cat I hired was not great. It was dirty, badly scratched, not easy to drive. I should have changed it or complained to Sixt.”
“Good price as we have annual car hire insurance so no need to purchase extra, either online or on collection. Only get information on supplier after booking.”
“The only comment I would make is that a guide is printed to advise the return of the car. It was a nightmare trying to find how to get into the car park, whether to take a ticket and where to actually leave the car. It took at least 3/4 hour to do this.”
