i have been with them for less than one month and have been charged £61 for a "length of licence discrepancy". although it says on both parts of my licence when i received my licence - they are adamant i have held it for longer.

Had an accident last April, someone went into the back of me at a roundabout causing damage to my car. 11 months later it still isnt resolved. My renewal is due so I renewed with Debenhams to avoid having to explain to another insurer that there's a case going on. Within days of renewing I lose the case. So on 22nd March I rang to cancel the renewal which was starting 1st April. Woman over the phone told me it was cancelled no money would come out my bank. 1st April, £77 came out my bank. I then rang them to say it shouldn't have come out and needs refunding. I got told it would have to go under investigation and could take 5-7 days for a refund. There would be a call back within in the hour. Few hours later, no call back so I rang them. Again had to wait for a call back so I rang my bank. They cancelled and I got the money back straight away. I have since received various letters and emails saying I'm in debt to them. Rang again this morning, still waiting on a call back. I can't get a NCB certificate while it's still on going so I've had to make my other insurers aware of whats going on. What a nightmare! Worst decision I've ever made.

Not a person who does this but this time I had enough. The way the customer service operates is a complete joke. I have worked in call centre myself and been in service industry for 20 years. The customer service people sitting in Debenham Car Insurance centre is complete Robots. They use their own unique Abbreviations and doesn't connect with clients. They don't even let client finish their statement. The line is so bad that you have to repeat things over and over again. This is the last time I ever use Debenhams. I will advise everyone else to stay away from this Insurance company. Very bad customer service.

I was researching to find a new insurance from my car. My insurance is finishing this 15th. I came across Debhnams insurance, With its name and brand value, I had the impression to receive a good standard of service. I I called them to give business i.e. buy insurance, the guy who picked up said they will call me back and did not. then yesterday I called them again and the guy on the phone is saying his team is busy and I will have to only apply through website. Then I said I am flexible to speak to anyone may be later the day, he asked for my number without taking my name. I asked him does he want my name he said it is not important they will call me any way. He also refused to take my quote ref. no. It is 48 hrs since I spoke to him I have not received a call. I seriously doubt whether Debhanmas is directly involved in this or has contracted it to some clowns to Africa. Their tone is so rude, they sound like they dont give a shit. Now that I have seen other reviews I am certainly not giving them business. bunch of morons on the phone!

I was with Debenhams for only 2 months then had accident and had to cancel my policy but because of counter claim I had to pay my all premium money. I was so blessed to have a really kind lady named Kamy Pillay. I talked to this really kind and polite angel for 5 months and It feels as if I know her from ages. It was her who gave a hope to get my money back. Debenhams is so lucky to have really nice advisers and I think Kamy Pillay is on the top. Their costumer servise is great. I know another lady named Alicia Sing she is really helpful soul. If I buy a car again I will definitely go with Debenhams and it's just because of Kamy Pillay. Debenhams must be thankful to Kamy Pillay, she is a blessing for this insurance company.

Debenhams asked for documents including No Claims Discount, Licence Card and Licence Summary, which were supplied to them. 1 month into the contract, they just sent me a text with no contact number (just says Debenhams) stating "Your Car Insurance Policy is now cancelled. It is an offence under the Road Traffic Act 1988 to drive or use your car on the public highway without insurance". I cant just respond to the text as I do not know how much the charge will be for that. No phone number is supplied on their headed paper. I paid them a premium for the whole year and they have supplied no information regarding refund. As advised elsewhere they are authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCO) and I am in the process of reporting them and pursuing them via FCO. I have to find insurance elsewhere whilst they still hold my premium for 11 months. Honestly, they do not even deserve 1 star.

SHOCKING, over £210 in fees just to cancel my policy because I bought a new car, my annual cost is only £540, this can't be legal, rang up spoke to them for almost half an hour and managed to get the fees reduced if I paid the same day, bunch of Cowboys I'm surprised Debenhams want their name attached to this, disgusting!

Shocking administration charges, £50 for every slight amendment and for each change- beware do not go with this company if you will be changing address, changing car, changing employment or changing name- each of these will cost you £50 , even if they happen at the same time. I am an experienced driver with only one no fault claim and now due to moving round the corner a month after changing my car and moving from nhs employment to working in a private hospice I have had £150 admin fees. Additionally my premium to move round the corner was £110 more than my husbands who is with Admiral. I know who I'll be going with next time!!!!

Very unprofessional people. I received my annual renewal quotation of 364 pounds from Debenhams. When I called them to renew my policy, the operator wanted the check every point of my insurance and after asking hundreds of questions and holding the line for 5 minutes, she told me that my quotation is not valid now ( I do not understand, my renewal date is 28th of February and I called them on 21 of February) and she told me that the renewal quotation has now increased to 465 pounds. This has never happened to me and it is disgusting. Immediately cancelled my renewal and got it from another insurer. Their Quote Ref: SOGX03PC02

This is a very unfair organisation have ever met in my life, I was charge for my car insurance for a certain amount which I paid a deposit. By the time I calculated my direct debit Debenhams have being taking from me, there was additional £600+ to my insurance almost close to the amount I would have paid. This is really painful and customer service representative not really helpful. From my heart Debenhams will regret this cos you defraud me and cheated my innocent self. God will take the money back in multiple folds from you people and I pray you don't fold up!!! What a painful experience. You have taught me to pay off my money once instead of spreading it over. You will regret this!!!

Poor communication! Happy and efficient in taking my premium but after several phonecalls and emails I still dont have any acknowledgement that I actually paid them and no certificate of motor insurance either. The people at the end of the phone are in some far off land and clearly have a poor grasp of English. After spending hundreds of pounds I would at least expect an email or a letter but certainly my insurance certificate! Very poor

I have been having dealings with GoSkippy insurance - which should be avoided at all costs!! And was looking into Debenhams Car Insurance. Imagine my surprise when the woman who had emailed me from Go Skippy was the same woman at Debenhams. No wonder nobody can get through on the phone with all the complaints from each company they will be having!!! Its another name for Eldon insurance - all based in a residential house not an office or anything at all. I wish I had taken the time not to find out all this before, I will be getting legal representation now to solve my misfortune!!!

I made a review 2 days ago about being charged 50quid for changing my address. I want to update that. I want to give credit Moneysavingexpert.com (link below). I did some research, wrote a short email to request the fees to be waived or reduced. I emailed on Friday night, got an reply Monday. They will be refunding me 25 pounds 5-7 working day. http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/news/insurance/2015/05/the-devil-is-in-the-details-insurers-charge-huge-fees-for-simple-changes

I want to give a fair review. The bad: I moved house and was just charge 50pounds for admin fee. Additional premium of 15.40 despite moving to a much better area, less crime rate. I feel conned. Customer service guy so-so, not really bother toned. Rip off service. The good. To add my daughter (she's 30+ plus working) the additional premium was zero and just the admin fee of 50, which we were happy with. I agree with the 50 for additional driver, but to move house! 50quid! ridiculous!

Debenhams car insurance charged me £61 because I moved address!!!!! I couldn't quite believe it. Rude and unhelpful call centre staff who I struggle to understand when they speak. Just because it's the cheapest insurance quote you find AVOID!! I wished I had paid a little extra monthly with a different company then had gone with this terrible company.
