“Another engaging and enjoyable dance workshop that had our whole school dancing to celebrate World Book Day. A few of our student comments are as follows: 'I have learnt that whatever dance you do you always can't stop smiling and you can't not dance when the music is on' 'It made me feel energetic and happy because I was moving around a lot and the music was joyful. I would love to do this again' 'It made me feel like I was in the book' 'The workshop made me feel really happy because it was fun and exciting. I had a great time'.”

“Darren was fantastic. The children really enjoyed themselves. He clearly had a lot of experience teaching dance to children in year 1 . I was greatly impressed with what the children were able to do. I noticed him really encouraging the boys to love dancing but in a subtle way. The approach was very calm and respectful with some key learning too. We will use the company again definitely! Thank you!”

“Dance Days visited us to deliver a mixture of workshops, medieval and African dance. The booking process was easy and any queries we had were answered quickly and effectively. Darren and Matt were always on hand to answer any questions we had. On the day Natalie was great, arrived on time and had all her equipment ready to go. Her sessions were well structured and allowed all our students to access the sessions, she was receptive to the complex needs of our students. All our students enjoyed their sessions and they linked in perfectly with the learning that had already taken place in classrooms.”

“Our three Year 2 classes thoroughly enjoyed their African Dance sessions! It was a brilliant lesson to start off our block of dance, based around our topic, with many of the ideas being used in the rest of our lessons. It was fun for all and Shannon was amazing, interacting with the children so well. They learnt some great moves and by the end of the session they performed their dance performance. We would certainly like to have back again!”

“DanceDays were absolutely fantastic. All classes that took part thoroughly enjoyed the dance workshops and came out saying how much they loved it. Ian was a brilliant leader and his enthusiasm was infectious; all of the kids responded very well to his enthusiasm and leadership. Children who are not as confident as others really came out of their shell in the sessions and had massive smiles on their faces. “The facilitator was really good. He was energetic and was encouraging of all the children to join in. He made sure everyone was involved. When I asked my class, they said that as well as dance he actually gave them more information on Brazil and the tribes too. Even those that hate dance said they would like to do it again. Very pleased! Practitioner was very skilled and managed the group well. Workshop had linked to the year groups focus text. The movement was organised with music being linked to the atmosphere of the book. Pupils really enjoyed themselves and were proud to have a completed performance.”

We have found in the past that using PowerPoint brought a more formal feel to the dance workshops and took away from the overall vibe or fun in physical activity. That being said, we will consider this feedback when we review our workshop structure in the future. It is great to hear that the children enjoyed their time with Darren during their Amazon Dance Workshop. Its especially wonderful that all children felt engaged and wanted to take part, and the fact that the children who have said they were not initially keen on Dance previously have found enjoyment and a benefit from the workshop is great.
