“Staff always polite and helpful. Prompt payment a real benefit. Fees for me are a bone of contention. Unlike TAXIS, couriers are not regulated; travel time and costs to collect & return to the base are ignored. £8.91 per hr is the living wage but everything is geared to LOADED MILE. A large city offers a ppm (Pence per mile rate) higher than rural locations, thus more financially viable. A car able to achive 50mpg = £0.12p per mile. If 30% or more of one's trip is collecting the work and returning home. One is left with less than £0.45ppm, that's before ROAD TAX, TIME, SERVICING COST & INSURANCE. Backload rates? I can be called and on the road, within 15 minutes day or night. Service value is dependent on MARKET FORCES, so providers are clearly undervalued. I believe it's fair to at least ponder including time within the algorithm when calculating ppm loaded, just a thought?”
