“The solicitors I was given responded quickly but they completely wasted my time by getting me to provide information I did not need and which would have incurred substantial fees had I attempted to gather all the date requested. Their emails and forms had far too many spelling errors and many of the questions were far from relevant to my Leasehold sale. In order t "continue" from page to page I had to tick incorrect answers - rubbish. I was give nother quotes but the experience made me decide to pay more and use a local firm.”

“One Company phoned me immediately and then chased for a reply at 07:30 the following morning. Another sent me 4 chasing emails within one day. Suffice to say, I deleted both.”

“Hardly any quotes and therefore nothing to compare. So sadly can not recommend, maybe I live in area (LU5) that there are few conveyancing companies.”

I wanted to use a conveyancer that had knowledge of local area and was local in case I needed to drop documents or funds in. Once I received the list of recommended companies I was bombarded with emails and phone calls from some. Was disappointed with results of using this service and would not recommend.”

“There's no standardisation of quotes and no transparency around what the solicitor/firm I choose will add later on. I am now using a firm that quoted £1042 via your service, I've paid £14.40 for an ID check (your service itemised that cost at about £12) and no one there was able to tell me if that was the cost included in the quote or not.”

“Having provided all details of the anticipated purchase of a shared ownership one-bedroom flat, several conveyancing solicitors provided estimates. These ranged from £450 up to £750. I instructed Conveyancing Direct on the basis of their quotation of £450.80 inclusive of legal fees, disbursements and vat. Upon completion of the purchase, I was asked to pay the interim statement of account that amounted to £905.20 and it has been difficult to get answers from the conveyancing lawyers as they are 200 miles away. I will do my best to try to recover some of the items included on the statement, but I believe that I would have been much better off if I had used a local solicitor.”
