“Not a very good selection and dead against always having to give out a phone number just to see quotes as these people always call you regardless so immediately puts me off dealing with them”

“Had a selection of competitive quotes through. I'd also contacted some local firms (West Yorkshire) to see however they were a fair bit more expensive. We chose one of the conveyancing services after also independently reviewing their feedback on different sites and so far (although we are only at the beginning of our sale/purchase journey), they seem to be organised. Hope it continues!”

“The servicee works as anyone would expect. Though the companies that quote do not, in that at least one or two companies constantly call for weeks, all I ask is that I get the quotes online, followed by an email, then it's up to me to followup with any quotes I receive,if I wish to.”

“Having provided all details of the anticipated purchase of a shared ownership one-bedroom flat, several conveyancing solicitors provided estimates. These ranged from £450 up to £750. I instructed Conveyancing Direct on the basis of their quotation of £450.80 inclusive of legal fees, disbursements and vat. Upon completion of the purchase, I was asked to pay the interim statement of account that amounted to £905.20 and it has been difficult to get answers from the conveyancing lawyers as they are 200 miles away. I will do my best to try to recover some of the items included on the statement, but I believe that I would have been much better off if I had used a local solicitor.”

“Good points: Very easy to get a quote, and it helps that they are in the same format (but see below) Not so good: Only a limited number (5) firms quote for the job. If you come back and ask for another quote a few days later, the prices go up and down, so it's worth getting a couple of quotes a couple of weeks apart. Read the small print and ask questions, as there are sometimes hidden charges. Also, when I contacted some of the firms, they were very unprofessional and did not engender confidence.”
