“When the flight was changed to the direct flight from Dubai to Mombasa and you had ACS arriving on the same day instead of the next day, you should have not only told the school but told the parents so that we can prepare our kids. The camp they arrived for the first night was not was was 'sold' to parents and/or students. I understand you could not move the school that was there because they also pre-booked the camp, but you could have alerted us via email and sent pictures of where they were going to stay. We gained a straight flight but we lost accommodation quality.”

“It was a tough week, especially because I got sick. I found the hikes difficult when I was sick. The bugs were also a bit challenging, but I really enjoyed the week in Borneo. It was a real eye-opener.”

“Camps organised the most wonderful experience for my daughter in Costa Rica which really pushed her out of her comfort zone but made her realise her potential and capabilities and lit a fire in her belly for travel, volunteering and experiences. At no time as a parent did I worry that my daughters was not looked after. The systems that Camps have in place for coping with illness, disruption to travel and communication with parents worked well. The only reasons for four stars - lots and lots of time in country travelling to and from various camps and the trips are so expensive. Fundraising is hard!!”

“The staff was really friendly, the locals were amazing. The camps were peaceful and loving environments where we could relax, play games or get to know other groups. Each camp felt like a different family and every time we moved to a new place we got welcomed with open arms and full hearts and it made the experience 100 times better.”

“An amazing experience for our students! Started with a bit of culture shock for them, as life in Kenya is so different. However, a few days in and they were all mucking in with projects, meeting the local children and experiencing things they would never have a chance to otherwise. In-country support was faultless. Any issues dealt with smoothly, quickly and lots of support given. Students were shown by the local guides how the money they had paid was helping in the local communities. The amount they had to raise in a pandemic was a lot, but when they could see where it had gone, it was worth every penny! Only reason I can't give 5 stars is communication in UK before we went. Sometimes given conflicting information, or no response to emails. Other than this, I would recommend Camps International to everyone!”

“We had a wonderful trip to Kenya with Camps International. It was a fantastic and well planned experience. Thank you to our great trip leader, Keith Scott. Keith was excellent with our students, he led the group with so much knowledge and got to know our learners on a one to one level. The only reason I have given 4 stars is there were a couple of bits of information that camps forgot to tell us. E.g. that we had to pay for the PCR upon return/ we also were not told about doing travel locator forms.”

“My daughter was booked to go Cambodia this July through her school. All along myself and CI remained hopeful she would be able to go Even if it was to a back up destination. Camp have always been honest and upfront regarding the situation and every time I have had concerns I have always come off a call feeling reassured and informed .We were just offered a good will refund of all funds paid but my daughter really wants this trip of a lifetime so we are really looking forward to moving on from covid and she will be hopefully going to Kenya in 2022 on an open trip ,the staff have already reassured me that the good will refund will also still stand next year if circumstances haven't improved. Everyone has been lovely to deal with and despite the difficulties of the year we have faith the trip will be unforgettable.”

“Process was run professionally and all the kids had a good, educational time and most importantly came back safely from Kenya. I got the impression that the camp monitors were confident and experienced. The trip was well documented and parents kept in the loop once the kids were in-country. Only niggle was in the pre-trip admin we were told not to take photos of the presentation as it would be sent to us, then it was never sent to us. Otherwise all good.”

“My daughter came back from 8 days in Tanzania and weeks later, she's still talking about her life changing trip. Amazing experience with camp staff who are very friendly, good food provided as well. The community work the kids undertook definitely changed their lives forever. We would consider sending her again on other trips. Administration prior to the trip was a little disappointing, with parents given the wrong itinerary (Kenya rather than Tanzania), wrong packing list provided and very little offered in terms of what the camp conditions are like etc. A more thorough admin process prior to the trip will definitely make parents more confident to send their children abroad.”

“My month in Cambodia was amongst the best in my life and the people I met made it even better. All of the Camps staff were unbelievably friendly and helpful and our work was very rewarding - it was clear to see the difference that we were making. The only downside really was the hidden costs of the vaccines and kit (and I didn't buy many things or expensive ones - Primark and mountain warehouse sales sold me most of my purchases), instead of £3990 it was more like £5000 which we weren't made aware of at the start. Other than that the trip was unbelievably well organised and our leader Alice was one in a million and made the trip 1000 times better. I would definitely recommend Camps to anybody looking to do a similar trip.”
