About BUNAC:

Founded with mullets and a mission by students in the 60's, BUNAC has been running its legendary Summer Camp USA program since 1972. From coaching soccer to teaching crafts - it’s the chance to turn your passion into a paid job, impact the lives of children and young people, and spend the summer living in epic locations with the best 18-30s you’ve ever met. And because 5% of profits go to our Youth Access Scholarship Fund, you can travel happy knowing that BUNAC works for others too.

“I can't say enough good things about my NZ bunac experience.! They made the whole preparation to go so straightforward and simple. The details of moving to a new country can feel so overwhelming, but they tell you what you need to do as you go and really make it way more manageable. The orientation days were helpful for settling in, and getting a direction for your trip. It was a nice balance between practical and fun. Sharyn is such a kind, warm person. Its a real comfort to have someone that you know you can call if anything happens. One of the greatest parts is that you have a built in community as you move around. I'm travelling on my own and that has been so valuable! If you're going anyway, especially on your own, going with bunac is so worth the investment! Its really taken a lot of the stress off of a really fun experience.”

“Really helpful and with step by step information on all forms that need to be filled out. Always someone who can help you via email and I have always had a quick response. I'm in Canada now from the UK, loving the experience and working over here. The bonus is I get free skiing ⛷️”

“I booked for November 22 in Auckland and had the best experience ever. Met the best people and Sharyn was the best leader I could've asked for! She was super helpful fun and approachable and helped with literally anything we asked or needed! Am recommending this program to everyone I know!”

“I was part of the Work NZ programme in October 2022; my journey to NZ was absolutely awful due to delayed flights and lost luggage, and I arrived ready to turn around and go back home, but Sharyn was an absolute hero and looked after me right from the start, going out of her way to make sure my delayed arrival in NZ went well and I didn't miss out on anything. I honestly can't thank her enough! I've also made really great friends through the BUNAC groups and love how inclusive the group is, if you ever have a problem, there is always someone who is happy to help :)”

“When I wanted to work at a summer camp in another country at first I was really confused as to how the whole process worked or where to start. After a few research, I found BUNAC, and had my first meeting eith Róisín. She was really kind and has been helping me with all my questions. So to anyone looking for an agency to start working with, this is your sign! They have made me feel nothing but comfortable since the beggining. Can't wait for my first time as a summer camp staff!”

“I arrived in Auckland a week ago and was warmly welcomed. In no time New Zealand felt like a second home. Thanks to bunec and especially Sharyn, the group quickly came together and now almost feels like family to me.Thank you so much for the wonderful experience and 24/7 support!!”

“The team was very helpful when planning to get down to New Zealand. Lots of helpful information and tips through the whole process. Initially arriving in NZ was great as Sharyn Hight was very comforting and welcoming and made everything easy. She looks out for everyone and does what she can to make sure everyone gets what they need.”
