About Billingham:

Billingham are a family owned company, manufacturing camera bags for the world’s photographers since 1973 alongside a range of leisure and laptop bags. All bags are made in the West Midlands area of England, a region famous for manufacturing. A core reason for Billingham’s longevity is the fact that from the start, the Billingham family were determined that their products would always be made to the very highest standards from the best available materials to provide high levels of protection for their valued contents.

A notable feature of Billingham camera bags is that they are made from a distincive 3-layer waterpoof canvas that never needs reproofing. They also feature genuine top grain leather and solid brass details.

“Hello. I am really impressed with your fine service, quick feedback on my order and quick delivery, I do not know what you can do for improvements. In addition, I was really worried that I would have to buy a new camera bag now that I was getting short of space in my "old" and beloved (purchased about fifteen years ago) Hadley Pro Camera Bag. thankfully I went into your website one day and found your AVEA 5 side pockets. I am so happy that I found them and that they fit the bag and my needs perfectly. must say that I really love the way you do your work and business and your high quality, you are an example. And by the way, the new side pockets fit perfectly to my "old" bag, it may not be so old considering how long your bags "live".”

“Two of my most recent purchases were directly from Billingham. The price including shipping was quite a bit less expensive than purchasing in the US and I had my bags in my hand within 2 business days. Bags are highly functional, rugged yet stylish. Lots of choices.”

“Just to start on the right foot, I own about fourteen camera bags, as well as top quality all kinds of other bags. This is my third Bellingham, and by far the best. I just did not notice it before. Spacious enough but does not allow me to be greedy with tons of gear. Sturdy as well as sporty enough to travel with or walk about on the streets of Cairo or Chicago for that matter. You can tell immediately it is the product of a family business that cares a lot about their products quality. They were helpful in getting it on time to my son who flew back with it to me and I would say I could have saved a lot of money if I would have discovered it earlier. The best in my collection by far.”

“The f1.4 bag is a very handy size for a small Olympus OM-D outfit, but needs more dividers to hold things in place. The divider kit does this very well.”

“I now happily own a Hadley Pro bag with the SP15 (extra grip) shoulder pad! I had some questions pre-sale and they were answered quickly. Shipping was speedy. I immediately took the bag "on the road" for a week of flights and road trip and it exceeds my expectations. Sturdy, functional, stylish. Great bag!”

“The Hadley Pro camera bag is an outstanding find for me. Upon helpful advice from Mike in Hadley's UK customer service department, I ordered it and it arrived in the USA within five calendar days. The advice I received was perfect, as is the bag for my needs. The Hadley Pro holds my entire mirrorless camera system - two bodies, three zoom lenses and one prime lens, plus accessories, in a reasonably sized weather-protective bag. Recommend it without reservation.”

“I have 3 x Billingham camera bags, stemming from the 1980's.. However, I had to re-order a interior partition for my smallest bag; (aged approx. 15 years old) since the foam in the interior cells had began to decay and go both powdery & sticky! I was hoping for a free exchange/replacement - or at least at a discounted rate - but alas 'no way.' Let's hope the new cell foam will last me out. PS. My 2 other bags remain in fine condition. Good bags otherwise - well-made and from fine, hand-crafted, material.”

Dear Martin Thank you for your review. We are sorry to hear that you are not happy that you had to purchase new dividers. We do offer a 5 years manufacturers guarantee, however as your bags are over 15 years old, they are outside of this period so we were unable to offer you a free replacement. Any of our bags which are over 15 years old will be made from bonded cell foam which we used to use as it was the best foam available at the time. We have always carefully monitored our materials and manufacturing procedures to ensure the highest possible quality - unfortunately, regardless of the strength and quality, materials can eventually wear out or decay like your dividers have. Of course we are always trying to improve to offer improved quality and longevity. For example this is why we now line our bags with butyl rubber for waterproofing rather than natural rubber after that became technically feasible – butyl rubber being lighter and less prone to chemical attack from ozone etc. And for this same reason, about 15 years ago, we swapped from bonded foam to closed-cell foam – closed cell form being harder wearing and more chemically resilient. Because of this change its much, much less likely that your new dividers will age in a similar way. While we are sorry to hear that you are disappointed, I hope that you can draw some comfort in being able to purchase many of the spare parts you might require for your bag so long after it’s manufacture.
