Having purchased various items for our new house we also bought a table, 2 chairs and a bench seat - all matching, display from the shop floor. Approx 5 months in both material covered chairs had split. After contacting the company we had 2 replacements and we were really happy with the service..3 weeks ago the chairs split again and having contacted them again were told that it’s a manufacturing issue and our options were to replace again (chances of splitting again are pretty high) or have a store credit for £100 to replace both chairs. Now the chairs are a faux leather and match the cheapest chairs in the store are £89 each, wood painted and are no where near the same style as the ones we have. We haven’t asked for the set replacing but the girl who rung didn’t seem to understand that I would have to pay at least another £200 on top of the credit note to replace the chairs to look somewhat similar. And, I explained that it would be in no one’s interest to replace the chairs every 3 months. The options she gave were a little concerning as I’m not sure why they thought it would be my preferred option to pay more money or not even to ask if we could even afford to replace them at their store prices. We’ve been left with a promise that the local store manager would contact us, who… I’m hoping understands the predicament they have left us in. If they don’t I’m sure Trading Standards will be happy to take a look at it for us.

We purchased a sofa and chair from Barker and Stonehouse approx 2 years ago. We complained about how the foam never retained its shape. They sent out a third party agent (HomeServe) who claimed it was normal. We were still unhappy with this furniture and we contacted the shop and they said they would come out and check it out. They never came. Will not buy anything from them again

I ordered a table, chairs and bench from barker and stonehouse, paid in full upfront. The table sent was incorrect size, which meant the bench and chairs would not fit. To reorder the table, they said it would be a 4 month wait, bearing in mind I'd already waited 5 months for the furniture to be delivered initially. I ended up having to keep the table which was the wrong size, re ordering the bench and having to personally sell a chair that wouldn't fit because of barker ans stonehouse error. Awful experience for a £2000 purchase, was really disappointed.

Had a fairly exspensive order, which was continuously delayed. For over a month each time. So I had to cancelled for a full refund. I wouldn't shop with you again just because of this experience. Don't feel there is any reliability

Absolutely Awful Company! I had issues with a 'New Customer' discount code, it was in date but said expired at the till. I placed the order anyway as I received no reply from customer services.. One item arrived a week or two later in ripped packaging (No delivery notification) the other items took MONTHS! I contacted customer services on a three occasions during this time, as the website said the item was 'back in stock' my order was obviously forgotten for 5 months! Absolutely Awful "customer service" won't be placing anymore orders with Barker and Stonehouse!!

Bed delivered damaged; replacement bed sent was also damaged. Told Customer Service that I had lost faith and wanted a refund, not another bed. They contacted me a little while later to organise delivery of a third bed. I told them again that I wanted a refund and have followed up twice since to get their confirmation that a refund was sent. No replies or refund confirmation have been received. This STILL needs investigating.

Defective product and dreadful customer services. We bought some nesting tables recently and some of the small feet on the table legs were missing. We spent an age being transferred around their customer services teams trying to get some of the feet Sent to us and eventually gave up. We've tried to get them elsewhere but have been unable to find anything that fits. We've now been stuck with a set of nesting, wobbly tables and nothing we can do about it. Very poor service.

We ordered a 3 seater sofa and 2 seater sofa, paid 600 deposit . Two days later my husband was informed he had lost his job I did the right thing and immediately made my way to the Teeside park store , to inform them of my situation as I could no longer go ahead with the order . I was treated with the upmost disrespect by a male member of staff demanding a letter from my husbands employer to prove he was loosing his job . He spoke to me in a very aggressive tone of voice . I was shocked and nearly in tears . He eventually said phone the store in a few days time and you might or might not get your deposit back . I called after a few days and a lovely lady organised the return of the deposit . Because I felt the experience did not match up with the expectations of the customer or the representation of barker and stonehouse , I decided to go to the store and speak to the store manager . I had a typed letter of complaint , which I gave to him and I identified the member of staff who had spoke to me in a terrible manner . The store manager said he would get back to me on this matter and deal with the complaint seriously . Well no surprise I have not heard a thing from the store manager at all . This is an utter shambles for a customer to experience and certainly not what I expect from your company. Its a shame because I had the decency to let you know immediately about my situation , yet the store manager obviously has not took this seriously at all . In a nutshell terrible service , no empathy for others and not willing to resolve a complaint .

Terrible. Late delivery, missing parts, poor communication. A 12 week wait turned out to be over six months before I was able to put my furniture up due to various issues.

Ordered a product for a Christmas present in October that ended up being not in stock and stuck on a shipping container. Updated arrival of this item was 3 months then 4 months after I made the purchase. No apology or anything from Barker and Stonehouse. Ended up asking for a refund. Found the lady I spoke with rude and unapologetic. Unlikely to use this store again.

I received damaged chairs, the replacements were worse so I had to return them and get a refund. I did find the customer support team top notch, unfortunately your products don’t seem to have quality control.

Item was delivered 3 months late in no packaging and damaged. When we complained we were told that they could take it back but we wouldn’t get another chest of drawers for another 3 months. In a word abysmal will not be buying from again

Delay after delay ,based on Covid ! We were not kept up to date about delivery etc Staff actually said they were not allowed to say anything or ring back on the directions of the directors . Having previously been satisfied,we returned to buy the tv console but doubtful we will ever return

I ordered a table its costs iover £500 generic. Probally from coach house or something along this lines. Ordered as stated fast delivery 10days. Waited 17 days. The wrong table was delivered. I refused deliervery. Called to rearrnage delivery of the correct product. Talk about unhelpful. I didnt even get an apology. No evening deliveries. DElievries every other saturday. What was advertised as deliverey in 10 days had turned into 8-10 weeks. I decided to opt for a refund as i needed the table with in the initial 10 day 2 week period. I received a phone call on the monday stating my refund will be with me in 3-4 days. Well guess what is is now 10 days i still have not had my refund. So basically B&S took my money a month ago and have not given it bacsk - their customer service is a tradedy. Dissaponited to the point im not shopping there again.

I ordered a clock and it arrived damaged in 5 different places. I phoned them straight away and complained and they collected item and delivered another one. This clock was also damaged so I am now awaiting a refund. The second clock was picked up over a week ago and still no one has contacted me like I was told they would. I have waited in for 2 delivery's and 2 collections now and staff on phone don't seem bothered at all. I wont be ordering from there again.

Just shocking service, never experienced anything like it. Product advertised as delivery within 7 days, part of the order arrives over a month later despite chasing. The waterproof cover to protect the £2k product is still yet to arrive and it’s been 2 months. Will never use or recommend barker and stonehouse again.

REF: Barker and Stonehouse FENWICKS reference 108600198 There seems to be customer service void where orders are placed online. I placed an order online for wardrobes via Barker & Stonehouse online (Fenwicks). The sales agent could not provide me with a price comparison for delivery so I placed the order online. This order was placed on the understanding that the goods would be available by May. There is a delay by 4-5 months, which is not satisfactory. For over 10 days now, I have tried to secure Cancellation options, or Compensation options I have paid for these items IN FULL. The money for these items are not sat in my account but those of a business. This has caused a ridiculous amount of inconvenience which I am not prepared to tolerate. This was purchased on behalf of my Mum who is recently disabled. Her wardrobe was sold, decorators booked for May on the basis that these items would be available by 22 May. NO ONE has had the common courtesy to respond form either Fenwicks or Barker and Stonehouse despite emails and requests. I called into the Fenwicks store on Friday 20 May, and went over to Barker & Stonehouse - staff were sat around chatting. I didn't have a great deal of time but I found this frustrating because I knew my emails for updates were simply being ignored. Staff were happy to sit about chatting but not answer emails on online orders!
