Booking was very thorough with plenty of options offered. We stayed in 3 hotels , middle one was supposed to be a 5* but felt more like a 4*, pool was disappointing and whilst staff ok didn’t feel as attentive as the other 2 hotels . They also had booking in wrong name which caused problems with luggage pick up and check in but was sorted after a short while.Hotel in Split advertised as have roof pool, only really for sitting in or kids , set up to stand with calf’s in water whilst having a drink so a disappointment. Transfers were all very smooth , if leaving from Dubrovnik to Hvar would recommend getting there in plenty of time as boat was packed with some people left standing . Dubrovnik lovely, took the ferry to Lokrum island which was much cooler and a pleasant change. You will need beach shoes as it is rocky on all the beaches and saw lots of sea urchins . Loved Croatia and would go back , next time to explore more island and an island cruise away from main tourist areas. We went in June and it was just starting to get busy locals recommended May and September, sea chilly in June so would probably go for September when it has warmed up a bit. We would use Balkan escapes again but do more research into the hotels next time.

An extremely positive experience with Balkan Escapes. We were very happy with their accomodation suggestions and travel advice. Have already recommended them to friends!

After many years of not doing a packaged holiday, I was sceptical of using an online agency. Needn't to have worried. Our Dubrovnik/ Korcula tailored getaway was very well organised, even checking us in for both Easyjet flights. We stayed in the Dubrovnik Lero hotel (b&b), very good. Decided to have the evening buffet on last night, not worth 30 euros. Their Piano bar food was better. 2nd hotel was the Aminesse Liburna Good but not as good as the Lero. Even after reading poor reviews about their evening buffet, I decided to pay the half board supplement as it was such good value. We thought it acceptable. Their restaurant with it's covered terrace is lovely. You can also use the facilities of sister hotels Marko Polo, Resort 9 and charge drinks/food to your room. I would have given 5 stars but for the lack of description about our transfer back to Dubrovnik airport. After a conversation with Jack F and then checking a revised time with the Korcula agency, I was under the impression that the taxi was using the car ferry. No, it drove there and then ushered us out and onto a very small boat "ferry" to Orebic, out again and into a vehicle parked up. Luckily none of us has a fobia of small boats, but it was a little tricky to get on. Jack accepted my feedback that he should have been clearer. Would I book with them again? DEFINITELY .

We used Blkan Escapes for our one week holiday to Croatia in May, 2024. Mr Jack Fleming took our phone enquiry and completed our booking. Everything was handled very professionally, mainly by emails and phone calls. Our needs were met and the hotels chosen for us were of very good location. Airport transfers and ferry bookings were also made. All documents/vouchers including boarding passes were posted as well as emailed to us. Confirmation booking gave us tips and ideas on tours, day trips, passes, etc.

We felt our Balkan Escapes holiday was well planned and we were kept up to date with the booking. Everything ran smoothly, from flights to transfers and hotel accommodation, travel documentation and important information supplied. We loved out hotel choices and locations and would recommend Balkan Escapes to others. Thank you helping us achieve a wonderful holiday.

From enquiry to the actual holiday I found Balkan Escape prompt and comprehensive in their assistance. A pleasure to deal with, thank you

Overall a good experience. Good attention and attentiveness. It gave us the base we needed to be able to enjoy our first trip to Croatia. Transfers were well organised and on time. Our only issue was actually with the second hotel, Neptun, which whilst its location was perfect we perhaps had not realised that it was a large "resort" hotel which was not to our taste. Whilst facilities were very good, our room was small and not to standard as far as we were concerned. It was in marked contrast to the hotel in Split which we were very happy with!

The holiday planned by Balkan Escapes was well planned and all the connections worked well and were on time. The only points I would make were the hotels . The Hotel in Split Marul was nice and small and centrally located , whilst the hotel Amfora in Hvar was huge, a nice 10 minute walk along the coast from the town centre but attracting a number of loud guests. Not the type of place we would normally go to. The third hotel , the Neptun in Dubrovnik was the best , the only one of the three I would class as four star. The only downside was it was 5 kilometres out of the town centre. There was though a good bus service to the old town.

Hol was very successful. Only gripes mostly at the beginning. Hotel Kotora put us in a room without terrace even tho we'd booked one. When I asked about this I got a very disinterested response from the receptionist, who told me there'd been a group booking which meant we were shunted into a lesser room so they could all have the terrace rooms. I said I don't care about this group, we've booked a terrace. She said "I don't care either". We left it there! This was Sunday. When manager was in on Monday he rectified it and we got the correct room.... Not a good start tho. Similarly, we were told our key card got us discount at the restaurant below the hotel. We immediately went there for lunch. My husband is a vegan and some items on menu said "vegan option available" We asked what that meant for the salad Nicoise. Waiter said "it is without egg or tuna". I asked if they replaced them with anything else? He said No. I asked if they reduced the price accordingly. He said No. We left and did not eat at either of the hotel's associate restaurants after that! Rest of stay was fine, breakfast excellent and cleaning first class. Would have appreciated better instructions for finding the hotel from the Sea Gate than "the hotel is 60ms away". In which direction? I had to ask a policeman. "60ms left of the gate" would have made it easy.... Taxi transfer from Kotor to speedboat a bit weird. Got a message from the Bozica hotel that morning to say driver couldn't meet us at Sea Gate, we had to find our way to the bus station instead... We had seen taxis in the SG layby so not sure what his prob was... We are able bodied with not much luggage and had Google Maps, but another holiday maker might be a bamboozled by this. Also, we weren't warned that taxi would only take us to Croatian border, and that we'd have to get out, pass thro border on foot with our luggage and wait ten mins on other side for another taxi. Bit inefficient. Bozica hotel lovely if a bit "end of season feel" ie run out of a few things. But loved the spot and had a great time. Sorry to leave.

Good cooperation for questions / queries about the proposed holiday was appreciated this made it easy to facilitate the final decision. The final itinerary was good and informative. The booking process was explained and made easy for required information. Required information boarding passes, transfers and bookings are all provided in good time. President Valamar in Dubrovnik was great with all the facilities you could want. Great experience friendly staff and a good level of service Hotel Marko Polo by Aminess in Korcula ok as a base to explore. Facilities and room tired in need of updating. The room was dark you could easily see bits that needed attention. Bit of a musty carpet smell. The floor flooded in the bathroom when trying to use the shower. Some staff are a bit off-putting and short when asking questions not helpful. Would reconsider a stay here. Corrected transfer time on return leg pick up from hotel was picked up by Jack in plenty of time. Would book again and recommend Balkan. Jack and Kayleigh were good. Overall had a good experience. Croatia was great. Should have checked out Hotel Marko Polo better for the second centre as when there we saw other options.

* Did you feel that your holiday needs and requirements were met? Yes * Was your accommodation/transfers as you had expected? All the accommodation booked was clean and well presented. They were all in good locations for what we wanted to do while we were there. * How was the service provided by Balkan Escape? Lacked a little bit of attention to detail i.e. when we changed our plans to a different island the information pack for the new was never included. The format of the confirmation email of all the different bookings (we were visiting four different locations) could be structured clearer. * Would you book through Balkan Escape again, and would you recommend us to friends/family? We would book through them again and recommend them to friends and family however you should not do this last minute as it takes time to get the itinerary correct. Balkan Escape could offer a wider service by providing a facility to book day trips.

We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday in Croatia and felt that it met our needs... time for the beach as well as to explore the islands a bit. The hotel in Split was satisfactory. It was a bit further away from the centre than we expected and we would have preferred something closer to the centre. The staff were friendly and helpful though. The breakfast was satisfactory, though we would have preferred a bit more choice. The hotel in Hvar town, though very big, met our needs well and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Its location was great, as was the view from the bar. The breakfast was amazing. The hotel in Bol was good, but to get to it there was a big hill to climb, so without a car it was not ideal. It had a nice pool, and the staff was very accommodating. The breakfast was fine. All the transfers worked well and made getting around very easy. Overall, we were extremely pleased with the service provided by Balkan Escape. One comment I would make is that we might have preferred more choice of hotels along with advice as to the pros and cons of each. We liked that the holiday was perfectly tailored to our needs, and that is a great strength of Balkan Escape. We would certainly recommend the company to friends who are looking for a tailor-made trip to Croatia. Did you feel that your holiday needs and requirements were met? * Was your accommodation/transfers as you had expected? * How was the service provided by Balkan Escape? * Are there any areas of either the booking process or your holiday that Balkan Escape could improve? * Would you book through Balkan Escape again, and would you recommend us to friends/family?

Great holiday in rovinj organised by balkan escapes. Found us a grest little hotel-porta antica one of most welcoming and helpful we ve stayed at, withexceptional breakfasts next door at adriatic. Only issue was Tui flight organisation and jack from balkan even managed to take the stress out of that for us. Thanks.

Dealing with Balkan Escape was a pleasure. It was nice to deal with just one person and receive recommendations as to what to do in Split and Dubrovnik. We really enjoyed our stay at The Luxe hotel in Split. It was our first stay in a Boutique Hotel . We liked that it was small and people knew who you were. The hotel was ideal for the old town.

We had a wonderful 10 days in September Dubrovnik first. The Grand Villa Argentina 15 minutes from the old town was indeed very grand. We were upgraded to a suite and awoke to the most beautiful of views over the Adriatic Hotel Korsal in Korčula was a very friendly family run hotel 10 minutes from the old town. The only adverse comment being no sitting room should we have had rain. Luckily we did not The Marmont Hotel in Split was comfortable and very central. We were in the town My only suggestion would be a more detailed map to show where the hotels are from the ferries if they are within walking distance as ours were In Split we took a 15 minute taxi drive when we could have walked it in 5!

Balkan Escape lived up to all of the expectations hotel and destination wise. Car hire was a problem otherwise it would have been 5 stars. Car staff at the airport were very rude and abrupt. The car allocated to me was covered in scratches and dents. As such this took well over an hour at each end of the hire to address.

Despite us booking our Croatia tour at short notice, Balkan Escape were able to offer a thorough and comprehensive package of flights, 3 quality locations, transfers & hotels at a reasonable price.

Booking process efficient and the packaged itinerary and attached tickets / transfers worked well. Accomodation in Split (Amphora) was excellent and high spec. Valamar Lacroma, Dubrovnik was OK, not exceptional and shame we had no views for the bedroom. Aminess, Korcula was small but pleasant hotel and good for a few days trip. Suggested activities were generally useful as a guide to what was available. Thoroughly recommend multi island day trips from Split as a highlight. Uber in Split was cheap to the Old Town though the bus to Old Town Dubrovnik was long and congested given the hotel location 2.5 miles from town centre. Overall enjoyed the 10 day trip and would consider future trips. When giving a budget for the trip as we did, it isn’t immediately clear what you would be getting for your money. Ie our £1500 x 4 budget for 10 days was what we chose but had I suggested £2500 x 4, would it have been substantially different? At the time of booking we were unaware. Maybe a options might have been helpful at the booking time
