“I am a recovering cardiac surgery and LVAD outpatient with Wythenshawe hospital and as part of my cardiovascular exercise regime I cycle as much as my failing form permits and the weather of course! I’m a member of the @electriccranks cycling group, it’s made up of similar heart condition patients and AVARIS ebikes gifted us one of their marvellous hybrid road bikes. In an attempt to raise funds for New Start Charity Wythenshawe Hospital we have recently completed a fully supported ride of the C2C Route 72 between Bowness on Solway to South Shields over three days 28th-30th June 2022 inclusive. For the record, I had not one single issue with the ebike across the entire 104 miles it is a very reliable ebike, lightweight, so very portable, easily carried unlike some ebikes and remarkably responsive out on the open road. The ebike provides wonderful assistance levels from 1-9 on the toughest of climbs and even below the river Tyne through that very nippy tunnel. I managed to ascend at least one 14% hill through the toughest sections of the Pennines in my condition so a fully able person would be laughing. The Kenda tyres coped admirably with a variety surfaces along the trail without a single puncture from tarmac to loose gravel, overgrown grass and sand. I must also add that it has very quiet brakes even when wet something that can’t be said for a number of mountain ebikes. I’m so pleased with this ebike I don’t want to part with it but appreciate that there are many other outpatients in recovery who would benefit from days out in its very comfortable saddle. In my opinion any determined road cyclist looking to purchase an ebike should consider this AVARIS hybrid road ebike first. It’s currently an absolute bargain at £1299…🤔 I can’t thank you all enough at AVARIS ebikes Cheers 😊👍”

“Customer after sale service is a disgrace.they can't fix there own bikes and try to work there way out of their mistakes.was told by Chris and Richard bike was out of stock now.i checked web site and there were 11 in stock.what sort of business treats customers like this?stay well clear”

Hello Elizabeth, When you received your bike, it looked like a spoke had come loose on delivery. We sent you instructions and a video on how to fix this. You said you won't do any work to fix the bike yourself, so we paid to have the bike returned, fixed the issue by replacing the back wheel with a new wheel and sent the bike back to you in complete working order. You then said you wanted another bike sending instead in a size we are out of stock off and you were going to trading standards if we didn't reply within an hour, with a solution. We said we can't send a bike we don't have in stock at this time, so we will refund your order and let you keep what was a fully functioning bike. I'm not sure what more we could do for you in this situation? Many Thanks The Avaris Team

“Love this Bike, I’ve now had chance to ride the Bike. Where I live there are some pretty Big Hills, and the bike has taken them on no problem. Even the Big hills, I’ve only had to use level 3 on the motor. As I get fitter, this will decrease. I often turn the motor off completely on the flat. So with the added weight of the battery and motor etc. over a normal bike ( non assisted ) You still get a great workout. And if you want to get fit and loose a bit The calories burnt are still high. I’ve never wanted a e-bike as I’ve always enjoyed Cycling without assistance, But due to a lung related infection, I’ve not ridden for six months or gone to the Gym . Buying this bike had changed everything and I’m cycling regularly and lifting in the gym again. It’s easy to get out now , knowing I can get home. So this Bike has helped me get out again. It’s been a real life saver, as already ( it’s only been two weeks) I’ve lost 10lb and Blood Pressure is lower”

“I purchased an Avaris Odysey on line after having researched a number of other makes both on line and local shops.I was a bit apprehensive making such a major purchase on line. First I contacted customer services by email with a few questions about the bike and they were promptly answered. I then made the purchase and the bike was promptly delivered 7 days later by Parcel Force. I was given a delivery time frame and that was kept. The bike arrived well packaged and undamaged. I only had to straighten and tighten the handlebars and attach the pedals. The battery took about 6hours to fully charge. The bike rides so smoothly and appears very solid. Early days yet but after 20 miles I am pretty confident all will be ok. I was also sent a £30 Halfords gift voucher shortly after purchase. I would just like to add that I purchased the bike just before they dropped the price. I contacted customer service and they sent me back the difference within a few days. I highly recommend this company. The product appears good and the customer service is excellent.”

“The Avaris Odysey mountain bike is amazing fun! Riding through the forests and trails with all the fun of the downhills and the fantastic pedal assist on the uphills. To get the best results you should change your gears as often as you would on a normal bike so you are always in the optimum gear when you need it. This method allowed me to only use pedal assist level 1 which I found gave great assistance on the uphills removing the pain while still getting the gain of a great workout and the energy to stay out and ride for longer.”

“This is the second bike I’ve had from Avaris and after doing 200+ miles on the 2.3 and getting into road cycling during the summer months. I thought I’d try the Mountain bike. I was a little apprehensive about getting a mountain bike since it’s a completely different riding experience and terrain to road. I’ve truly enjoyed getting on the bike and I’m getting more adventurous the more I go out. The handling is smooth, and the battery gives a serious boost. I’m no bike expert but the bike seems good value compared to similar bikes on the market that are £ 3K plus. This bike certainly does everything I require for now. I may look at a full-suspension mountain bike in the future if I get more adventurous.”

“Too early to give a thorough review but first impressions are a good bike. Customer service was first rate and some teething problems were solved easily and promptly, please update the printed instructions or make a little clearer, online link was a lot clearer and to be fair that was my bad for not looking at that more in depth. Overall happy with my purchase & it will allow me to explore some places that were just too hilly for me on my old bike.”

“Had a couple of questions on the bike, since I'm a relative novice to cycling, however, the Avaris team answered all my questions and put my mind at ease. Bike arrived after around 4 days, easy to put together and I've been out for 6 rides now and I must say I'm really enjoying it, the assist is much stronger than I was expecting, so I only ever need to use it when taking on hills, but feel this could be the start of a new cycling future for me at the age of 54 :-)”

Hi Trevor, We've tried calling and emailing you, however, haven't been able to get a hold of you, so thought we'd also try to respond to your review directly. We have been investigating, what has happened to your new derailleur. The original new derailleur was sent on the 25th of October and upon investigation, it appears Hermes have lost this package and had not informed us of this. We use DX for delivering our eBikes and they generally offer a very high standard in terms of delivery and service. For sending smaller items and parts we've been using Hermes, however, due to their service levels we have now decided to use another partner for small package deliveries to provide a better service level. We are now going to send you another derailleur, we will email you the tracking details. Also, in regards to the paint, we have checked the original correspondence and can't find mention of an issue with the paint. All our bikes our Quality checked before being sent, so if there is damage, this must, unfortunately, have occurred after the bike left our warehouse. Please send us an email with images of the paint. We can offer you a 10% refund as a gesture of goodwill. Apologies for the essay :-) we wanted to make sure we've covered all bases in your queries. “This is my first E Bike, after eight years riding a normal one, and I couldn't be happier. I had a minor issue with the battery to begin with, but the technical team sorted it very fast. I live in Kent, and there are lots of hilly roads around me, which was a problem before. But with the Avaris 2.3 I can go wherever I want. The 9 levels of asistance let me decide how big is the effort I want to make, and the display is well designed and easy to use. I think the price-quality relationship is very very good, and I am very happy I bought it.”
