Bought some 3.6m lengths of 19mm x100mm rough sawn timber- local branch (Newcastle) didn't stock it so got it in from Bradford. I was told I couldn't order it by 'phone - had to order online. Arrived on time - helpful driver. Very disappointed with the quality - I know it's fencing timber but some of this is firewood grade ! Also, I can't understand why ordering online is cheaper than ordering in branch

You we're supposed to phone me so I could arrange collection of my timber, but you didn't. Also there was no option for me to pay a little extra so that you could deliver to me.

Thank you for inviting me to write a review on my recent purchase. I would love to be able to tell you how pleased I was with the service but a week on from ordering the items I am still waiting for their delivery. Perhaps I could suggest that before soliciting praise from your customers for selling them a few bits of timber you at least wait until you have fulfilled the order.

Depot sent out totally inferior timber that was on the website as joinery quality and then expect me to stand the expense of returning it for a refund. DO not reply to emails promptly seems as though if you do not have an 100,000 pound order they have a very poor service attitude. buyer beware go to b and q

Nothing I wanted was stocked. Should not have been on the site for sale.

I ordered timber on a Tuesday for a Friday delivery. As this was urgent I rang again Thursday to make sure the delivery was allocated. I was assured it would be with me Friday. On Friday after waiting until 3.30pm I again rang up and was told the driver was about 1 hour away from me. At 4.50pm I again rang and was told the driver had returned to the depot without delivering my goods I had my builders booked for Saturday morning which did not go down very well. I was then promised first delivery Monday ,didn't happen and at 3.30pm finally got my timber.

The Sundeala product I ordered are mis-described online and I was informed it was unavailable unless processed as a special order (at extra charge). I found this response unacceptable. I have been forced to cancel the order and look elsewhere (and incur extra costs in doing so). Fortunately Sundeala themselves were much more helpful.

i was not informed at any time of what day the delivery would take place / no call/no email/no text and no account update...so of cause when it did finally turn up it was the most inconvenient time it could possibly have been totally out the blue right before I was due to pick my daughter up from college. So I was not able to get any help to move the timber and ended up being very late for my daughter. I ordered a stack load of sawn treated wood all at 4.8M long for some fencing I was building, however this turned out to be a curb side drop only from a hiab so I had to bust my back moving this myself from the edge of my property at the end at the road all the way to my back garden myself, it took me over an hour and a half to move it was sopping wet and weighed a ton. The driver did not help move any of the timber, the last time I had an order it came on curtain side truck with 2 guys and myself so we handballed it off in no time. I was particularly disappointed with the quality of the timber this time, I am not sure if it is because it was delivered sopping wet on the hottest day of the year so far and its dried out too quick but is all twisted and warped and split, quite frankly it’s the worst timber I have ever bought so much is twisted and warped I don’t see how I will be able to make a decent job of the fencing using such poor timber. I paid a lot of money for this and it’s the worst timber I have had by far from any supplier or builders merchant, to be honest if I had the willpower for the argument and hastle I would demand them to collect it and refund me under the distance selling regulations. i am sure the problem has been due to the fact it was so wet and delivered on such a hot day which dried it out too quickly.

I was extremely disappointed with the quality of the delivered product. The Kota Mouldings had obviously been treated with NO care during transportation. Each of the six pieces arrived in a damaged and scraped condition, some worse than others. They had not been packed properly and some of the damage was not immediately visible, being turned inward inside the loose plastic and sellotape. The driver suggested that I wrote "Slightly damaged" on the receipt. I felt pressurised by the driver to accept the goods quickly, so that he could depart. When I pointed out some of the visible damage to the driver he just said "You can paint that" - These mouldings are advertised as: "Paint no more. Fully finished. Saves time. Saves money" !!! REALLY? !!! I have previously ordered and used Kota Mouldings from a different supplier with complete satisfaction. (The previous supply was currently out of stock). The only notification I received prior to the arrival of the product was a phone message 4 days previously - despite Laver having my email address. Although the date was accurate no time of arrival was given, so I had to unprofessionally leave a client whilst I quickly attended to the delivery - so being unable to undo the sellotape and inspect the product. (On the delivery note it states: please phone 1 hour before delivery. This did not happen - my phone records all numbers with times.) Later, having time to read the delivery note I read that "All damages should be reported on receipt of goods. We are unable to accept responsibility once goods have been signed for and the vehicle has departed" Needless to say I will not be using Laver again and will obviously not be recommending them to my Property Developing friends.

I placed an order on the 18th, after hearing nothing for 2 days i range the free number given to be told that there were staffing issues in the London office and that my order was now being dealt with and would be contacted on the friday to arrange delivery. After hearing nothing again I rang the London office to be told she could not find my order and that she would ring Bradford to find out what was happening and ring me back. It is now Tuesday evening and I still have heard nothing. To say I am unimpressed is an understatement, I am now considering cancelling my order, I could have the skirting and architrave fitted by now if I had used another company. I still have no idea what the hell is going on, this is very poor service.

Placed my order online Tuesday evening. I hadn't received the promised call after two days to arrange a delivery time, so called myself on the Friday. Was told at this point that my order would be delivered Wed/Thurs/Fri the following week, once the supplier had delivered to them. By Thursday the following week I'd still not heard from Laver, so called back again. My delivery would be out tomorrow, at a time that couldn't be confirmed, but I would get a call 30mins before the driver was due. That final call I did get, but if that's customer sevice and "arranging a delivery date that's best suited to me" then I'll be going elsewhere. If you say you're going to do something, do it. The wood received is also of very average quality, requiring a large amount of filling (it's laminate pine board used for shelving). Even at this price it shouldn't be so pitted. Overall, very poor and I won't be using Laver again. There's plenty of choice out there these days.

Been trying most of the day to find out when my worktops will arrive, if at all, will have to put off the kitchen fitter. On the plus side they took my money really efficiently

Ordering from the website was easy what came next was very difficult, I ordered on the monday and the confirmation email was somewhat misleading stating 'please allow 1 working day to be processed' which led me to believe the item would be ready for the Wednesday, so due to this I booked the workers in for that day, costing me £100 labour, but in fact the items didn't arrive until the Thursday, which ment I had wasted a days labour. Understandably I was not happy with this and rang the branch, who was completely un-helpful and un-sympathetic. All this is a huge shame as I am currently renovating my property and was intending to use Laver's again, but unfortunately it has proven too costly.

Hi Rita, we apologize for your experience using our online store. We do hope your next experience is a positive one. Thanks, Arnold Laver.

Very disappointed. Placed order on line and was not informed that ordered items were out of stock until I chased the order up. The on-line order facility should tell you at the time whether the materials are in stock

After having specified and reiterated the exact finish of wood I was looking for, I was sent the incorrect product. Causing the project unnecessary delay and stress. This was after I was charged three times for the same product due to a substandard website.
