“As someone who has been passionate about makeup for years, I knew I wanted to start working as a makeup artist full time, but I didn’t really know many people in the industry yet and I also wanted to refine my skills. That’s when I joined the eight-week program at AOFM, and I can honestly say it was such an important step in my journey. During my experience, I definitely learned things that can only really be taught in a professional makeup school, like hygiene standards, proper sanitation, special makeup techniques, and overall etiquette in a professional environment. Even though I already had my own talent and experience, there were still so many details that I was able to refine and elevate. I also learned a lot from my teachers, not just technically, but from their real-life experience working as full-time makeup artists. One of the best parts was also meeting other artists, being able to connect, create content together, and slowly start building my own network within the industry. It really felt like a creative space where I could grow in more ways than one. Overall, it has been a really beautiful and valuable experience for me, and I truly feel it was worth it. A special shoutout to all my teachers for being incredibly patient, knowledgeable, and supportive throughout the whole journey. I learned so much from each of them, especially because they are working makeup artists with real experience in the industry, working with major brands and celebrities.”

“After extensive research into leading makeup academies in London and abroad, I chose to complete the 9-week Master Program in Professional Makeup Artistry and Hair Styling at AOFM’s Dubai branch — a decision I am extremely glad I made! This extensive program exceeded my expectations, offering a comprehensive and diverse curriculum covering hair styling, bridal and glam makeup, SFX, theatre, runway, airbrush techniques, and more. I had the opportunity to learn from highly skilled, internationally renowned makeup artists with extensive global industry experience. The course was demanding and required focus, discipline, and commitment, but it was equally rewarding. You are really encouraged to be creative and experiment and find your own artistic style. Beyond technical training, AOFM provided invaluable preparation and counsel in relation to entering the professional makeup industry, including guidance on content creation, personal branding, and the importance of networking. I also gained hands-on industry experience as part of the AOFM backstage team for the Runway by Minaaz (Jan/Feb 2026), led by lead makeup artist Mandy Gakhal. I was supported throughout the duration of the course by the wonderful dedicated core AOFM team (Jana, Val, Amanda and Sarah), and I continue to benefit from the after-care and industry opportunities. I now feel well-equipped and confident to embark on my career as a professional makeup artist. I would highly recommend the AOFM academy to anyone who is passionate about makeup - my only regret is not completing the course sooner!”
