Jana and his team have done a wonderful job in setting up AOFM and have worked very hard to make the school what it is today. Every program has been carefully designed by the industry experts. “As a graduate of AOFM , I can definitely say that it's been an amazing experience ! AOFM is the only makeup academy in Dubai which covers all the topics that I wanted to learn for a decent price (especially if you book early). Also you can retake any of the classes for free! They got a great aftercare program and you will have the opportunity to attend masterclasses and possibly have a chance to join their pro team. AOFM is suitable for both beginners and professionals. If you're a beginner you will learn everything there is to know about makeup from A-Z in great detail and the trainers explains in a way that is easy to understand. If you're an experienced makeup artist you learn alot of creative techniques, have access to alot of products you wouldn't normally get to use such as an airbrush machine and sfx products and you will greatly improve your skills! I want to thank all the staff and trainers of AOFM for being so helpful and professional. Sara who's at the reception is very friendly and very informative, she told me all that there is to know about the academy and was always there to help us. Valentino, the educational manager is super knowledgeable with alot of experience in the industry and really pays attention to eveyones individual needs. Amanda and Ivana are also amazing trainers. They're both super knowledgeable, talented and have alot experience especially when it comes to working in the tv/film industry which a field I really want to get into. I will say that you need to go into this with full dedication and be very passionate about makeup because it is a very intense course but it's totally worth it. Overall, I'm very happy and satisfied with the course. I learned so much and made great connections there. I will most likely attend their other courses in the future especially for sfx.”

“My exeperience with AOFM was just fantastic! It gave me a real insight into the makeup industry and equipped me with skills and knowledge needed to develop myself as a makeup artist. I completed a 6 week professional hairstyling and makeup course and I loved that we had a chance to learn from different visiting hair and makeup artists and practice our skills on different face shapes and skin tones every day. We also had a chance to try out the best makeup brands and tools and experience their textures and application. Moreover, we were provided with professional models and photographers in order to simulate a professional photoshoot and backstage work. Every single day at the Acadamy was a new experience and a new challenge and I enjoyed every bit of it. Thank you Valentino and Jana for developing and delivering such an amazing course!”

“I took the 6 weeks "Dubai Complete Artistic Pro, Specialist in Hair Styling and Makeup Artistry" course. It is open to beginners. I graduated From AOFM last October 2022. I did a lot of research on this school before committing my savings and taking a change in direction in my life. It was the best decision I made to be with this school, these teachers, and my wonderful batchmate friends. Love you all. AOFM has now opened up a lot of opportunities for me. If I could give a million stars I would. They are not just a make-up school; they will help you to grow in your career as a make-up artist. All the teachers Nikki, Jade, Emily, JoJo, Betty , dani and Valentino provided by the academy are very supportive, knowledgeable, and talented. They have been in this industry for many years. I admire them so much they don’t just teach you they will prepare you for the road ahead. But to anyone who thinks it is easy, it is not. You need to be punctual and respect the teachers and what they are teaching you. The course is amazing, but not for people who do not want to work hard, listen, and learn. If you do not like rude people, then a career in make-up is not for you. You need to be strong and patient. Fashion and make-up roles are very demanding, long hours, lots of travelling and can be very tiring. So many people depend on you and how you perform in this school will show you if you have what it takes. Not everyone can pass. But I love it! To Valentino that has been there for all of us since day one, I will never forget you. You and the team have been amazing. So, thank you for everything you have done for me. You are very smart, talented, helpful, and so patient with us (well most of us!). Sarah, I can’t imagine AOFM without you. You keep the whole operation going. You always want the best for us, but God forbid if we are late!😅 Jana, you have been brilliant, funny, and amazing. I have really enjoyed my time at the course and would highly recommend it to everyone.”

“Best time of my life until was spent in Aofm!! Not even exaggerating because it’s been 8-9 months since I completed my course but till date I miss being in the academy. Our classes started with new challenges everyday but getting it done was such a fun journey. Our mentors especially Val and Jana always helped us out may it be in practising hairstyles, makeup or just helping us out with confusions regarding the work related to the industry. Sarah is also a sweetheart and like a sister to all of us. Besides this the academy offered top class education and training in makeup and hairstyling something that will always stick with us. On top of that they taught us etiquettes to be a good artist which has really helped a lot of us because some of us were literally new to all this and our mentors helped us nurture into confident individuals. I miss Aofm and can’t wait to go back there again.”

“The Academy of Freelance Makeup (AOFM) is an international makeup school. I was lucky enough to attend the London Campus in 2010. Being the youngest in the class and also starting a new career can be extremely daunting, to say the least. My fears were put aside as I began the “Total Pro” Intensive 4-week course. The owners and staff working in the Academy are second to none and always on hand to rectify any situation. My class had pupils who came from all over the world, wanting to learn from the best of the best. The thing I most loved about AOFM was the teachers you got to learn from. Almost every day there was a new tutor, from a different country telling you stories about their career in the fashion and beauty industry, and teaching you their tips and tricks of the trade. Upon graduating from AOFM I immediately felt the benefits from their great aftercare package and helpful team; that even 10 years later continues to this day! Through this, I have been allowed to work on high-profile shows backstage in Milan, Paris, New York, Tokyo and London multiple times. I have assisted amazing Makeup Artists and have worked in fashion, film and television internationally. As a freelance makeup artist over the past ten years, I have worked for MAC Cosmetics, International films, Fashion brands working on campaigns, look books and E-commerce, private clients and editorials for magazines. The highlight of my time with AOFM will always be working on the Viktor&Rolf Show in Paris, (Please see my attached images.) I left AOFM with the make-up and business skills that have allowed me to be as successful as I could be and given me the confidence and support to go as far as I wanted to. I would highly recommend investing in your talent and training with AOFM.”

“I completed my 6 weeks artistic course from AoFM Dubai. Its been an awesome experience. I enjoyed every bit of it and learned a lot. Three things, I felt makes this academy way ahead of others are 1. Instructors 2. Infrastructure 3. Management Instructors - They are current artists with diverse backgrounds, makeup styles and loads of experience. They have different instructors for different topics, who share just not their expertise but also lot of useful tips, their makeup kits and stories which inspire and educate at the same time. Special shout out to few of my favorites: Emily Clayton - her energy and creativity is so contagious, that we would end up missing her the days she was not teaching Shona Kennedy - her makeup is so precise and on point. She would also make sure that we re do our work till we get it right. Katie Cousins - she answered all our queries so patiently and also shared lot of useful tips Betty Bee - loved her hair class, it was fun, entertaining and lot of learning. Infrastructure - the academy is beautiful and well maintained, lot of bright light n lot of space to work around. The products room is a little piece of heaven for all makeup lovers. They have all luxury brands from around the world. Students are free to use any products. It really helped me to try all brands and see what works for me before investing in my kit. Management - From the time you call to enquire till you graduate, they are very responsive and helpful. Sara, the manager was our go to person for literally everything and she made sure that the students are taken care of. Last but the best, Jana, lead of the academy is one task master who is always very particular about everything from hygiene, organization and professionalism. It was a little overwhelming at times, but once I started working, I realised how valuable those qualities are as a MUA. One of the USPs of this academy is their after care and master classes. I was able to attend few master classes both online and at academy, they have been really good. They are very responsive to any queries that I have even after graduating. They have their doors open to all graduates to retake the classes, if we wish to. I cannot be grateful enough for being able to start my MUA journey at AoFM and wish to continue my association with one of the best academies in the world. I would highly recommend this place to all budding makeup artists. Life after AofM - Its been around 18 months that U have graduated. Since then I have worked on various fashion shows - Newyork Fashion week, London Fashion week, Emirates fashion week, Middle east fashion week,Blenders pride fashion nights etc. I have also been working on movies doing special effects makeup. I also got the opportunity to assist leading makeup artist India and also around the world.”

“I have always been passionate about makeup as a hobby and wanted to pursue makeup as a profession. There is nothing better than combining passion and fun at work. Makes work all the more interesting!  I did the ‘Complete Artistic Pro Specialist in Hair styling and makeup artistry’. The course is all encompassing and at times it does feel like a lot to manage, however, once you are done, you feel empowered to start working.  If I had to review AOFM as a place to learn professional makeup, I could wax lyrical about the learning process, their program/modules, instructors, management, et al but my biggest takeaway from the experience is the after program opportunities like master classes, fashion show backstage, assistantship. There are ample avenues vis a vis events that are internationally renowned which AOFM partners with. These various opportunities have helped me stay current with new products, skills and techniques. AOFM has provided me with exposure to be able to work on different projects like e-commerce campaign/commercial shoots, bridal, private clients, et al. I am fortunate to be engaged as a full time freelance HMUA working on various projects in UAE and internationally. Thanks to all my mentors and instructors at AOFM, I can manage any work with confidence. I am proud to be an AOFM alumnus who can always look for advise and technical direction any time from the AOFM management & instructors. ”

“After several years of research I decided to follow "The Complete Artistic Pro Specialist in Hair Styling and Makeup Artistry" offered by AOFM in Dubai and I can say that I do not regret it at all. I strongly believe that the academy offers the best course of makeup. Everything was superlative. The course was very intensive, but I learned a lot, starting from the basics of makeup and hair styling to special effects and airbrush makeup. I really liked that they have different teachers from whom I learned different techniques in the art of makeup and that they have products from different top brands (Mac, Nars, Makeup Forever, Anastasia Beverly Hills, Huda Beauty, etc.). The two photo shoots during the course were a big PRO because I had the opportunity to add to my portfolio professional photos. The best part is that after finishing the course AOFM gave me the opportunity to be part of the backstage team at the best fashion shows around the world and at the best masterclasses offered by the best makeup artists in Dubai . “It was all worth it! I graduated at AOFM this August ‘22 and completed the Artistic Pro Specialist Course in hair styling and makeup artistry. I have learned a lot from different well knowned MUAs and their own techniques. The school lets you use a varieties of top quality make up and hair products such as Schwarzcopf, Keune, Dior, Charlotte Tilbury, Make up forever, Nars, Mac, Anastasia, Kryolan, etc. I get the chance to use these in school and was able to know the difference and use of each. Another good thing about AOFM is that they will instill you the ethics on how to be a professional MUA which will be really useful in the future. The school also gives a FREE MAKEUP MASTERCLASSes after you graduate. And the best is they don’t let you go on your own after you graduated especially for the beginners like me. They will give you an experience on how it works in the real world. And they will guide you until the end. AOFM sponsor fashion shows, films, events which you can participate by assisting or by being the make up artist. They also provide exceptional photographer like CS Toledo in one of our projects in school for our portfolio.
