“I bought a reg, and when emailing someone who works there for a confirmation that I owned the reg he said he can’t give it me? And just said I have to put it on a car within 5 years or it could be sold… Then when I asked to explain why I had to put it on my car and couldn’t just get a confirmation he told me to ring someone instead of messaging him”

“Bit of a mixed review following a mixed experience. Great quality plates but I paid extra for the hassle free transfer service, only to find after sale, that service actually involved printing and completing a form, then posting it back to Absolute reg with the V5. As this was for a birthday coming up and we’d just bought the car I was transferring to (hence waiting to purchase until a week and a half before the big day) I decided that I would do the transfer myself online when the V5 came this week. I had done it with my own reg before and wanted to put the plates on for the big reveal. I emailed about 10 minutes after purchase to say I’d do it myself and kindly received a reply saying that a retention certificate would be posted which I greatly appreciated. However, I didn’t appreciate that the £40 is non refundable “as per the t&cs”. I’m fed up with companies hiding behind that line. Yes I should have read them in detail, but I also don’t think it’s clear to a normal consumer pre-sale that actually it would require you to print and post documents. I live nowhere near a post office, and don’t have a printer. The V5 was not here until Tuesday and the birthday was today so this method just wasn’t suitable for the time I had. The hassle free transfer was done by me on the DVLA website in about 5 minutes this morning when I was with the car. No printing or posting necessary, Yet I have paid absolute reg £40 for the privilege. Safe to say that I will be using a different competitor or just buying from DVLA auctions in the future. It is a shame as the actual plates were great but good customer service goes a bit further in my book!”

“All done in 3 days. Staff were fine. Everything straight forward and didn’t need to send them my log book, just got the reg log book sent to me. Less than 5 mins on DVLA to change All in all was quick”
