“A fun game that looks great. I'm always on the look out for games that I think my girlfriend will enjoy and she really like Takenoko - she tends to prefer fairly "light" no confrontational games. Nice and easy to pick up but with enough depth to keep it fun for many games.”

“Bought this on the strength of it being similar to Ticket to Ride. I guess if you regard sowing and harvesting bamboo as on the same 'lines' as building train tracks to join stations then maybe. IMHO, however, the game is sufficiently different from most others in my collection and as noted by others is appealing on the eye. Not too confrontational and with sufficient options to make the first half dozen games play differently to the others. Not a substitute for Caverna or Caylus but that's not such a bad thing when one is seeking entertainment rather than a brain overload ! Very reasonable price too. Recommended.”

“Lovely gateway game for those who you may invite round for an evening and you stumble onto have a game or two. Love the theme of the game. It's light enough to attract people who don't particularly play board games in there own home. Also a hit with the wife so can't be anything other than five stars (but might only be because she one the first game we played).”
