“After years of tasteless turkey decided to order the Christmas Cockerel. So pleased I did. Went down so well with everyone on Christmas Day and plenty left for Boxing Day. The free Pork & Prune in Armagnac stuffing was a delicious bonus.”
“When received the bird was upside down and sealed in a plastic bag that was quite bloody. When opened the bird did not smell good and the breast skin looked torn and thin in places. After washing, and carefully drying, the bird smelt fine. Unfortunately, during roasting the breast skin split and the breast meat was left exposed and consequently dried out. The bird was a good size and tasted lovely, but it was spoiled by its condition on arrival.”
“Great bird, with lovely flavour and firm but tender meat. Small niggle - the giblets were messy and a bit random. Only an inch of neck, a handful of quite shredded liver and a heart.”
“I really wasn't sure about having Cockerel for Christmas dinner but it was amazing! So much more moist and flavoursome than a bland dry Turkey! It served 6 well and then I made soup with the carcass, had sandwiches and a Boxing Day stir fry all with left overs!”
