Great harness! We bought the medium size for our nine month old flat coated retriever and it fits her much better than other harnesses we’ve tried. It’s always a struggle to find harnesses suitable for long-bodied dogs - so many of them are too short and cut in behind the front legs. This one seems comfortable for her, and so far has stood up to the winter weather - the mud washes off easily. We use the front clip as she pulls on the lead, and the harness does twist around on her slightly, but it’s not too bad. Hopefully we can move to the back clip when she’s older. We actually wish there was another attachment for a beacon, as there is only one place to attach, and we usually have two as she’s a large dog.

Hello Nicola, So glad you are happy with the flagline harness, it is a great harness and comes with a lot of other advantages such as lift assistance and light-weight drying material. One thing I did notice was with the front of the harness being used and it twisting round. When we recommend using the front clip, we also recommend using the back clip. This would require a double-ended leash. We are in no way dog trainers or behaviouralists, but from experience, this has been the best way forward to both training and reducing chest plate movement. The chest plate is always going to move a little bit as that is where your dog is much stronger. However, with a secondary attachment point on the back, the plate is less likely to move dramatically because of the tension on the back. If you don't already, we do sell double-ended leads on our website which may be better for you. The brand of double-ended leashes we sell is "Halti" which are popular amongst home dog trainers. Thank you for your review, I hope this helps. Mountain Dog Team.

I have been searching for a lifting harness for years; the one I purchased is perfect. I will be honest and say the price almost stopped me buying it, but it is worth the money to be able to easily and safely lift my shihtzu on to the train.

One word, brilliant! It’s strong, just as well as my dog is strong on the lead and pulls like an express train. So this harness helps stop her doing so. The only one negative is that it’s not long enough on the back for her. The photo below shows just how short it is. Perhaps you could make a longer flag line harness for the longer backed type of breeds like my dog. Otherwise it’s great and I’d recommend it.

Lovely harness, easy to fit I can throw it in the washing machine when needed and it comes up like new. Nice and lightweight. It is very secure - my dog can escape single chest strap harnesses but cant escape this! I love it!

Well made strong and robust. Perfect fit, with four fixings that are adjustable.

Harness is structurally fine, quality is fine but it’s not in any way comfortable for our dog. Thin furred I wanted something padded and while this harness looked like it would be padded it is all ripstop material and hard edged, pointed. The buckles seem to slip also so you are constantly adjusting the fit while out walking so I wouldn’t expect it to keep a dog from getting loose.

Ah that's such a shame the Flagline isn't suitable for you - we find it to be a great harness but like everything that is subjective. We'd be delighted to help you with a return and hopefully we can find something more suitable. Thank you for sharing your thoughts, it really helps.

Love this harness. Have an escape artist dog and he's had about 7 different harnesses and this is the only one he can not easily get out of
