“I absolutely fall in love with this experience! The kids in the school are simply adorable and so full of love and joy! They are so eager to learn about everything new, about different cultures, religions, customs, to learn to dance, sing. So curious! The thing I like the most was digging into uncertainty about the school classes and from one day to another findings a style on how to teach, hold a class, discipline and motivation of all the pupils. The same stands for full emerging into the local style of life - so enriching and fulfilling. I will definitely repeat similar experience!”

“The price was good for what I got. The communication before the trip was very good. I don’t recommend booking additional trips with volunteering solutions: They keep a good amount of the money for themselves and also I paid for things I did not get during the trip (2 nights in a hotel). I asked for a refund which was denied. Always book extra trips when you are already in the country or directly with the other organisation you want to do the trip with.”

Hi Ella, Thanks for leaving us a review. Good to know that you were happy with the price for the trip and found the communication as well before the trip to be very good. In regards to the tours, we offer tours at a very reasonable price in comparison to the market. Safari trips and Kilimanjaro trek trips are not very cheap actually. We understand there was some confusion in regards to hotel stay during your Kilimanjaro trek. Since you were already doing the program in Arusha with us, the accommodation was in the volunteer house. “We had a great time during our experience in Tanzania. Volunteering Solutions was always available to walk us through the process and preparation of the trip. Special thanks to Sahil Sabharwal who really helped us in the initial stages and provided answers to all our questions. In Tanzania, we were received by the local team like a family and we had great housing arrangements. Overall, getting to know the children in the orphanages and being able to participate in their lives and day-to-day activities was a life-changing experience. In our free time, we were able to go on a safari and also visiting a Maasai village, which was also something we'll never forget. The only downside of our experience was the feeling that sometimes there wasn't a "continuity plan" for the volunteering work. We left our volunteering location without knowing who would come to pick up on what we've started if anyone at all.”

“We had a really nice time during our volunteering. We did two different programs, one in Kenya and the other one in Tanzania. The experience was completely different, if I had to recommend one I would say the Tanzania experience was so much better because our host was much more aware of the volunteers. Whereas in Kenya, we were mostly by ourselves and the coordinator hardly came by to check on us. Also, we had a bad experience upon our arrival to Kenya regarding the visa issuance. Volunteering Solutions told us that it wasn't a problem to process it upon arrival but my brother couldn't travel to Africa because he was actually planning on doing it upon arrival as Volunteering Solutions told us it was not a problem. I believe that as an international organization, the agency should be aware about this matters because as a volunteer, you count with their assistance and knowledge. When we were heading to Tanzania I asked again if the visa could be issued upon arrival and they sent me a Wikipedia link that said it was not a problem. But most of the time Wikipedia information is not trustworthy so that made me mistrust Volunteering Solutions even more. Lastly, the activities in Kenya (visiting Mamba Village, Giraffe Centre, etc), was supposed to be included in the payment fee but we actually had to pay at the entrance. Apart from that, we actually enjoyed a lot our programs, specially the one in Tanzania. Despite this I would not entirely recommend Volunteering Solutions.”

Hi Ana. Thanks for leaving us a review. We appreciate you taking time out to write a detailed review. We have discussed these issues with you and sent you an email response as well. As discussed, in regards to the visa, it is the responsibility of the participants to get the appropriate visa and we do provide supporting docs and assistance which was provided in your case as well. While in Kenya also, the coordinator provided you with necessary assistance and support in visiting the visa office and also arranged your return airport drop although it was not included in the program fee. We had given the correct reference link as well of Kenya Airport Authority. In regards to the entry fee in Kenya for the tourist sites, it is very clearly given in the program exclusions that the entry fee to these places is not included in the program and you acknowledged that as well. We are happy to know that you enjoyed your time in Tanzania a lot. We hope to have you again in our programs. It was great to have yourself, your friend and brother in the program with us.
