“How did you find the pre departure booklet given to you and the service of the staff in regards to answering your questions and helping you prepare? The booklet was very useful. I read through all of it before I left and would say it really helped me be prepared for my trip. The staff was very quick in answering all my e-mails and questions. I really appreciate it! Did you enjoy working at your project / placement? I really enjoyed the Kindergarten placement! I loved working with the teacher and kids and felt productive and as if my help was greatly appreciated. I also worked at an orphanage and the kids were great but I didn&rsquo t feel as productive. Both placements were close to my host house and in safe areas. Accommodation and meals My host family and house was great! They helped make my experience memorable and I felt like a part of their family. The mother is such a great cook! Although she didn&rsquo t cook all time and her kids sometimes took over. Overall I enjoyed trying all the new foods. My house was very clean and welcoming. I had warm water. Coordinator program. She was quick in returning my messages and calls. Jenny also gave good advice and knows Cusco well. I really appreciate the dinners that she held for all the volunteers. Without them I would not have met many of the people that I hung out with in Peru. What was the highlight of your volunteering experience and your trip? The highlight of my trip was simply spending time with my host family and getting accustomed to their way of living and culture. It was such a great learning experience and I was excited to finally put all my years of Spanish classes to use! Of course the other highlight was Machu Picchu! Would you recommend this program and our organization to others? yes/no Yes definitely!! I had the experience of a lifetime in Peru through the goods bads ups and downs! I learned about Peru and also more about myself. I recommend this organized program to anyone wanting to volunteer. I felt very safe and did not feel alone throughout the whole process.”

Did you enjoy working at your project / placement? Yes it was a life-changing experience for me. Accommodation and meals It was not difficult adjusting to not big meals at breakfast and dinner but my family always offered us more food for lunch if we were still hungry Coordinator Jenny was amazing in answering all my questions and helping me find the place that I would be able to help out despite my Spanish deficiencies. She was always easy to speak to and coordinated dinners to bring the volunteer group together What was the highlight of your volunteering experience and your trip? Working with children at the special needs school definitely re-ignited my passion for children. Through this experience I remembered why I wanted to become a doctor in the first place. Working with kids was definitely a great experience that I would recommend to all new volunteers. Would you recommend this program and our organization to others? yes/no Definitely Yes!”

“About the Trip in General This is Logan Mims in Cusco peru. I have really enjoyed my time here so far and look forward to more amazing weeks. I am 100% ecstatic to live with this new host family. I feel much more positive about the time i have left here. I have met a few of the volunteers but would love to have more social gatherings--maybe a weekly dinner or a night to all go out together or Sunday lunch? I have absolutely loved working at the health clinic. Jaime was so kind and generous and really made my Santa Rosa health clinic experience exceptional. Coordinator I enjoyed my stay in Cusco and am glad to have the experience of volunteering. Jenny ensured I felt comfortable in the new environment and city. She welcomed us in her home and advised on how to make this experience the best possible. I thank her for all her help. What was the highlight of your volunteering experience and your trip? There were so many great times ! Volunteering with the sick and injured in my clinic meeting other caring volunteers doing the Salankatay hike up to Macchu Picchu.. Cant pick one ! My Spanish improved significantly. I learned a lot about myself and the dreams i wish to achieve and how to work well and socialize with people of different cultures. Would you recommend this program and our organization to others? yes/no YES!”

“What areas did you like about our website? Good information for volunteers great overview of Salkantay Trek. How did you find the pre departure booklet given to you and the service of the staff in regards to answering your questions and helping you prepare? Very helpful but a little more warning about the weather would have been nice. Did you enjoy working at your project / placement? The school was a bit disorganized but on the whole was a great experience and helped me improve as a teacher. Accommodation and meals My host family was incredible caring fun and always willing to help. The meals were delicious as well. Coordinator Jenny was friendly accessible and on the whole very helpful. What was the highlight of your volunteering experience and your trip? It was one of the best experiences of my life. Meeting people the volunteer work the sites and the hike were unbelievable but more than anything the experience of being completely immersed in another culture was one I&rsquo ll never forget. Would you recommend this program and our organization to others? yes/no Yes Any comments and suggestions I learned to appreciate my surroundings more to take in my environment fully. I also appreciated more how small nice gestures can really alter someone&rsquo s life.”

“I liked the feedback- videos of the other volunteers who did the same program. So I could see how everything will be. I also liked the plenty variety of different projects you are offering there. So many countries with different cultures to go and to visit. Pre-departure booklet was good and informative! I also liked that there was always someone who could help you with your concerns that quickly =)! I loved the placement with the kids because they were so nice and gave me so much love back. I also enjoyed the communication with my colleagues because they were so friendly and always helped me when I didn&rsquo t know what to do with the kids. They were so nice to me. To get to know a totally different kind of culture with its facets and to get more independent from home is the highlight from this program. During that time I could live in a host family with two guys almost in my age. That was good to do something together in my spare time. My host mum was always very kind to me and when I had a problem I always could ask her and she helped me also to understand more the &ndash for me-new culture. The meals always have been so delicious and fresh. I enjoyed it a lot. Yes I would recommend this program to anyone.”

“I like the whole website especially the pictures from other volunteers. The pre departure was very helpful. I very much enjoyed working at my placement. People were friendly and I got to learn a lot more about different sort of vaccination and other things. The highlight of my volunteering trip was my local Host family in Cuzco &amp Macchu Picchu trip along with my health care placement in Peru. The meals and accommodation was very good. Host family was wonderful. I felt like I was at home! I would surely recommend Volunteering Solutions to my friends.”

“Website is very easy to navigate. Easy to find programs &amp locations. Easy to make payments very good areas to update pre Departure information. The staff was very helpful and helped us out with everything we asked for-ex: Macchu Picchu trip. I loved my placement very much. The hospital staff was very welcoming. It takes a few days for volunteers to understand &amp know their job at the hospital but the staff is good at making you feel part of the work. I learned how to vaccinate &amp check babies&rsquo development history. The highlight of my volunteering tip is: - Staying with host family Volunteering at the hospital Learning new techniques at work learning to speak Spanish a little better The family was extremely nice &amp I am glad I stayed with a host family while in Peru. It gave me a chance to live how Peruvians do. I would surely recommend Volunteering Solutions to any one.”

“The pictures on website were amazing and being able to contact other volunteers who have done this before was also nice. I found pre departure booklet very easy to use and the staff being very cooperative and helpful towards me. I loved working at my placement because the children were very kind to me and didn&rsquo t give me any problems. The teachers I worked with were very kind and welcomed me as one of their own. I watched the kids and helped the teachers with anything they needed help on. I would help the kids with puzzles or help them do any daily projects. The highlight of my trip was when I went to Machu Picchu for the day and explored this wonderful area. I never have seen anything so beautiful in my life. I have seen many pictures of it before but it was nothing when you are standing in the middle of it. Accommodation and meals both were nice and the coordinator were helpful too. Yes I would surely recommend Volunteering Solutions because it is an experience that no one will ever forget and it will give you a better understanding of how other people in the world live. You get a better understanding of yourself and what really matters in your life.”
