My overall experience was amazing I do not have anything to complain about at all. Everything was better than I expected from my accommodation to my placement my coordinator everything was great. My local coordinator Jenny Torres was amazing. She answered all of my questions even before my trip and was always very supportive. She always cared a lot about my safety and well-being and would constantly ask me how I was doing checking up on me making sure everything was fine. My accommodation was excellent. The family was very nice the beds and everything was clean and the meals were delicious and very hardy it was difficult for me to finish everything sometimes. The bathroom was very clean and there was warm water in the shower. I loved the family they took me in as if I was their own child they even drove me to the airport when I was leaving amazing and beautiful people. I loved my placement. I worked at the kindergarten project the kids are so beautiful. I really felt like I was making a difference in these little kids' lives because the teacher really does need a lot of help. I absolutely fell in love with all of them and it was very hard to say goodbye. I only worked there for about 2 hours a day though so I really wish I could have been there longer and done more. There were many highlights for me first of all my project placement as I said before I loved working with the kids and it was a life-changing experience. Also visiting all the amazing touristic spots such as Machu Picchu the Rainbow Mountain and many other archaeological zones that are just mind-blowing. Probably one of my biggest highlights were the friendships that I made with the other volunteers on my program I have friends from different parts of the world that I hope to keep in touch with for a very long time.

My experience in Cusco was absolutely extraordinary. My home-stay was one of my favorite parts of my time there as the family was so kind to me and the other volunteers. I am a vegetarian and they went out of their way to accommodate me and make me feel like part of their family. I truly felt like I was making a difference in my volunteer work at the daycare center. There was always something to do and it was such a joy to see the children learn and grow in the two weeks I was there. Every afternoon after I finished volunteering I took the bus into the city center with another volunteer. There is an endless amount of places to explore in Cusco and everything is very inexpensive. I was able to take day trips to Machu Picchu Humantay Lake Rainbow Mountain and the Sacred Valley at very little cost. I loved seeing Peru's beautifully diverse countryside and learning about its rich history. I returned to the United States wiser and more confident after immersing myself in Peru's culture for two weeks. Coordinators Keli and Jenny were extremely helpful and kind to me. I loved going to volunteer everyday. The children are so friendly and lively and they have a great desire to learn. It was great to feel needed and see that I was helping the teacher. The highlight of my trip was the wonderful home-stay experience. The host family was so warm and welcoming to me and my host mother even walked me to the bus stop early in the morning when I took day trips. There was also another volunteer and student in the house while I was there. We all became great friends and did several activities together. Volunteering in the daycare was also a highlight for me as it gave my trip purpose and meaning. I learned so much through my volunteer work and I hope the children were able to learn from me as well. My family and I would like to thank all the coordinators at Volunteering Solutions who were so helpful to us as I prepared for my trip. My parents were able to send me to Peru feeling confident that I would be safe and receive assistance. I was and I did! The experience was more incredible than I could have even imagined! Thank you!

At the first the placement was a challenge so many kids playing around but once you adapt was a very fulfilling activity. I felt my efforts get appreciated and I had a great experience because there are so many kids and just one teacher so they are always in need of our help. My host family accommodation and meals were great. The in-country support staff and coordinators were good. The highlight of my volunteering experience was the second week when I felt that the kids were happy when I stayed with them the smiles on their faces was an amazing feeling. So after two weeks in Cusco I feel peace and harmony in my heart I am so happy.

I like the countdown to the trip and how the information was separated into different sections. It really made it easy to find. I know it's difficult to be specific about every volunteering experience but more information about the family and the individual projects would have been helpful. I really enjoyed working at both of my placements. I feel that they really appreciated the gifts I brought with me. The accommodation was very comfortable and the family were extremely welcoming. The in-country staff Yovana was extremely helpful and went out of her way to make sure I felt comfortable and happy. The highlight of my volunteering experience was the relationship I developed with the children at my project. The highlight of my trip was visiting Machu Picchu.

I really enjoyed having the PreDeparture information booklet because it provided useful information for my stay and prepared me for it. From my point of view it offers an allround-information package and as much preparation as possible. I was very content with my project's preparation. I really enjoyed my project and I was even lucky enough to experience two different projects: Due to exams in school I started working in the kindergarden first. And I enjoyed no only the two different types of work it were especially the nice people who made my work a great experience. My experience was definitely worthwile and I would immediately do it again. Since I stayed for two months I could see the effects of my work at the end of my stay. Also the teacher and pupils regularly gave me a positive feedback and evidence that my work was effective. Accommodation and meals were Great! Of course it was different but that's the whole point about staying abroad - especially when staying in a host family. We - the other volunteers and me - were always offered enough and good food. The family really cared for us and did everything to make us feel at home. Jenny is amazing and I don't think there could be a better country coordinator. She helped us with everything and was always willing to listen to every doubt we had. Furthermore she has a very pleasant personality and it is truly enjoyable to spend time with here. One of my highlights was - of course - the travelling. Another one the other volunteers. Another one my time in my projects - when a small child in the kindergarden ran to me and hugged me when my pupils did not want to let me return home to Germany. I enjoyed my cooking classes in Cusco as well as my salsa classes. So to cut it short it is hard to tell which of my experiences is the biggest highlight - because every single one is a highlight.

The Volunteering Solutions website was very organized and easy to use. I liked how our progress was constantly updated and we had constant communication with program coordinator if we were missing certain items. The pre departure booklet was laid out professionally and clearly. I thoroughly enjoyed my program placement. I also met lot of nice people and I really felt like I was making a difference by being here. The highlight was to give injections to locals because doctors/nurses refused due to the government strike. It was very humbling and moving and I truly felt like I was doing good for the people of Peru. Meals were excellent and accommodation was comfortable. Jennie was extremely nice and hospitable and made us feel like part of the family. Her parents were absolutely wonderful. I just loved this program so I will surely recommend this to others.

I really liked my program placement and there were enough patients despite doctors strike and Obstetrics was busy enough too. I loved getting to know the staff and chatting with them. I got competent in giving shots which I was a bit timid about before. My highlights was getting to know the locals through working at the clinic and taking Salsa classes during free time. I have plenty of friends to visit when I came back. Going in to the program I thought I would be a single volunteer living with a family but I liked the accommodations and the other volunteers. The food was really good and healthy there was enough to eat. Jenny our coordinator was really nice and her kids were fun. I will surely recommend this to others but it can easily be uneventful if you don&#39 t talk to the doctors and nurses and you should let them know that you want to learn new skills.
