“i give 4 stars because the kindergarten i worked in. the family i was with showed direct favoritism for the other volunteer because she had lived in Spain before and that’s where they came from. they didn’t speak to me and when they did i wasn’t expecting them to bc they hadn’t been much so they began to think i knew no spanish at all and made me feel quite dumb. i felt like an unwanted guest and it made my homesickness much worse. the father in the family made the most effort to speak to me and reach out. the food was amazing and they made a great effort to comply with my needs as a vegetarian. overall the experience with the family turned me away from wanting to do another program”

In regards to your feedback about the host family, we are taking this seriously and are checking with the local team in Cusco about this as well. This is not a regular feedback we receive from the participants about their host family experience. In fact for majority of the participants, their stay with the host family is a major highlight of the trip. We would definitely check with the family on this feedback. “My family was absolutely amazing. Gloria was a great cooks, Luis helped with my Spanish, and the kids were so fun. I learned so much in the clinic. I am a pre-med student with intermediate skills and I felt the staff was willing to teach me. I was able to help with paper work (I know, boring but it really helps the busy nurses), give vaccines, vaginal swabs, finger pricks, take blood pressure and weight, etc. Some things seem trivial but the nurses are overwhelmed and yet still find ways to get you hands-on experience. Cusco is an amazing city with lots of beautiful things to see and the people are very nice and welcoming.”

“I think it is a very safe and organized company. I did not have any issues with my trip, everything was well coordinated, I loved my program and it’s location.I definitely recommend anyone to do it.”
