“This is NOT lapsang souchong! It has a horrible metallic taste, more like emulsion paint. I will not be buying this again and will be throwing the teabags away. If you want lapsong souchong buy a different brand.”

No longer able to find them, I bought several pckets of your "Distinctely Smoky" black tea...inspired by Lapsang Souchong" instead. They're nothing like the same thing, with a much less delicate flavour. In fact, after a few cups, I've lost interest in them and may throw the rest away.”

“Nothing like the original Lapsang, tastes thin and more like ash smells from the bottom of an incinerator than the rich woody aromas of the original. I did however find an acceptable cost effective solution. Place one bag of Twinings Assam in a two cup teapot ( I use the Suki ones with a built in strainer) together with a dessert spoon of Waitrose loose leaf Lapsang. Fill to the top and brew for 3 mins. Result is far closer to the original. Call me a heathen but I prefer mine with milk - gives it a fuller rounder mouth feel.”
“This is to lapsang souchong what a coal fire is to a wood burning fire. The smoke taste is more artificial and loses the delicious wood smoked aroma of lapsang. Please bring the old one back!”
“I used to drink the old Lapsang Souchong all the time, gallons of it. I drank other brands of the tea over the years. This is definitely the worst ever Lapsang Souchong I Ever drank. I had 3 goes at it as I thought I might get used to the taste but no, it's awful. The rest of the box is going to the bin.
Please Twinings, bring back the old Lapsang Souchong, please.”
