"How cheaply can we bung together some synthetic rubbish and slap "Smoky!" on the label" is more like it. It's obviously Brexit/cost cutting and a huge neon sign about how much Twinings value their customers. Thank goodness there are alternative places to buy real Lapsang. Every Lapsang lover would pay more to drink the real thing. This is an embarrassing low for Twinings, who are clearly no longer bothered about their reputation.”

“Tastes absolutely revolting. Lapsang souchong is the only tea that I drink - I have a subscription order of it from Amazon I love it so much. When they told me that it was no longer available I was very upset so decided to try this instead - after all how different could it be? Completely is the answer. This is revolting - like drinking chemicals. After two cups I just threw it away - don't waste your money even trying it! I am now going to have to buy my tea from other companies. Please bring back the original tea, it was so beautiful and one of your finest teas.”
“This is disgusting. Acrid and fake tasting! What have you done!?! Same packaging as Lapsang but not the real thing! The ingredients say it all…96% black tea, 4% smoke flavour! Why would you do this when the real deal was delicious? Very disappointing and please change the packaging. It’s not lapsang souchong and the packaging is misleading.
2 tea bags used and the rest in the bin. It’s undrinkable.”
“Absolutely horrific! As already written by others, this is a very disappointing replacement for the traditional Lapsang Sounchong blend - smells of chemicals/cheap plastic and leaves a very unpleasant aftertaste. Huge PR blunder on Twinings side. Won't be buying again...”
