“Bought this thinking it was my usual Lapsang Souchong. Realised my mistake as soon as I brewed a cup. Smells wrong and tastes awful. Checked the packet and discovered its "inspired by Lapsang Souchong." So disappointed in Twinings discontinuing the real thing then packaging an inferior substitute in similar packaging. Won't be buying in future.”
“This is such a disappointment. I’ve had lapsing souchong from you guys for years and this is definitely NOT anything like it. Not smoky, not flavoursome. Sad to leave you but will be off to find some somewhere else.”

“Not a patch on the old lapsang - none of the smoky aroma of the original and a sort of chlorinated taste.
Fortunately will be in London in a week so will make sure I swing by Fortnams - their Lapsang is really good - hopefully Waitrose own is OK for everyday, but this stuff is not really drinkable.”
“I’ve been drinking Twinings’ Lapsang for over 30 years and have always enjoyed their tea. Recently placed quite a large order which was delivered efficiently.
I can’t quite put my finger on it as I’m no expert but the tea bags from the first packet I opened definitely taste different and sadly not as enjoyable with a definite aftertaste.
I’m hoping this is just a one off and that the next packet will be the smooth smoky Lapsang I’ve loved for so many years.”
“It's an interesting taste, not bad but its not to my taste, and itis not a replacement for your Lapsang, I drank that everyday.
This new stuff is not something I will have very often, so the one box I have is not going to be replaced when it's done.
Please bring your regular Lapsang back.”
“I bought this tea as my usual supermarket didn't have any stock of Lapsang Souchong on the shelves and I was hoping it was going to be the same product but just branded differently. I certainly will not be buying it again as I didn't find it an enjoyable drink and have since thrown the teabags on the compost. Will have to change my supermarket to one that does stock Lapsang!”
