Distinctively Smoky - 40 Tea Bags Reviews

“Really not very nice at all. Have drunk Twinings lapsang for breakfast daily for years now, but have run out and am struggling to find it anywhere. Bought this in desperation yesterday, and am not impressed. It tastes of pork scratchings or something. Please don’t tell me this has been brought in to replace lapsang. Why can I not get hold of the real deal…?”

“Utterly vile - like drinking an ash tray. Please bring back real Lapsang Souchong tea, as this is no substitute.”

“Absolutely awful. Nothing like the original Lapsang. Can't believe this got through quality-control. You dont need to be a Master Blender to know the taste is dreadful. If the problem was down to supply-costs, the price should have just been increased. I think people would have understood the problem and paid the extra. Can't understand why Twinings screws up iconic lines like Earl Grey (changing the blend), or discontinues the excellent Rose Garden and now even Lapsang. Sheer stupidty. And it shows contempt towards its loyal customers. Please show some common-sense and bring back the original Lapsang. One other thing -. how can it be that the original Lapsang is available in mainland Euope but not in the UK?. Are UK tea-drinkers less important?”

“BLEUGH BLEUGH BLEUGH Been living off Twinings' Lapsang at work, so am absolutely horrified to learn than this crazily inferior product is taking Lapsang's place. If this was produced by master taste testers then I put it to the jury that it was conceived at the height of COVID when everyone's taste buds went haywire. I bought a packet of this new pretender with fingers ridiculously tightly crossed, however they haven't been given shelf space. One mug was enough to realise that Twinings have dropped a clanger; I'm hopeful they'll realise and come and pick it up again soon. One can dream, eh?”

“Absolutely disgusting. You stop selling Lapsang and replace it with a cheap copy which is undrinkable. Does anyone who works at Twinings have any idea what they are doing. It seems to be a variation on the 'go woke go broke' theme. I feel bad about giving it one star as there was not an option to give it -10.”

“I rang the Twinings customer "talk tea" about this product and they said they had had both positive and negative feedback. It turns out that's 2 positives to every 25 negatives. I agree with many others - 30 years of a distinctive and pleasant tea at breakfast - GONE - destroyed because of "difficulties sorting the blend" so the real thing is now discontinued... My wife said that this new product must have been inspired by rotting bonfire ash, It has gone straight in the bin and what we see is a reputation undeniably damaged. as someone else has said - this is possibly the worst mistake in Twinings history.”
