“It tastes like chemical cleaning fluid. Please sign my petition to get Lapsang Souchong reinstated: https://chng.it/HPJjGgnYN9”

“I'm distraught! I went to purchase several boxes of my all time favourite tea, the Lapsang and found to my horror it appears to have been replaced with some woke nonsense. I don't get it. Why would Twinings do such a thing? Lapsang is virtually near impossible to purchase in Australia, supermarkets don't carry the tea bags and so for years I have always had a big spend up when I got low on my tea and purchased here, about 20 boxes at a time and considered it money well spent. What am I going to do now?! I will have to jealously ration the last two boxes of 50 Lapsang that I have and ponder where to purchase more. I think Twinings might have lost the plot of this, so tired of being told by companies what we should drink and like. People liked the Lapsang, so why fix something that wasn't broken. I won't be buying anything here again, not until they reconsider their mad and crazy decision.”

“A strange rubbery taste, a bit like drinking old paddling pool water on a hot day.”

“Not a substitute for the usual Twinings lapsang. It tastes artificial. The old lapsang tasted like a lovely campfire. This tastes like a fire in a plastics factory where some tea was left accidentally. I know Twinings is having trouble sorting proper lapsang, but I'd rather have no alternative than this alternative.”

“Oh wow! Your designers may have shamelessly copied the images and colour scheme form your old Lapsang Souchong packaging, but at least they have been honest with the 'what does it taste like' section on the back. i.e. (old, discontinued) 'Lapsang Souchong': "Deeply mellow, with delicious smoky tones", whereas the description for the (new, substitute) 'Distinctively Smoky': Dark and mellow with a distinct wood aroma". Notice the lack of the word 'delicious', which sums things up perfectly. Perhaps add the word 'revolting' if you want to completely inform the customer. Whilst you're at it, why not be up-front in the 'Where does it come from' section, by adding the words 'ashtray', and perhaps 'old paraffin firelighter cube'. I will definitely be following your advice on 'popping your teabag in your food waste bin', in fact I'll put them all in there now, and find something else to drink instead. I will be absolutely amazed if you are still selling this 'tea' in 12 months time - it is truly disgusting!”

“If I could give a minus 1* I would! I've drunk Twinings Lapsang for almost 50yrs, since I was 17. This new blend is nothing like Lapsang, and should never have been marketed as a replacement. It leaves a terrible aftertaste, burns the back of my mouth and throat, and on occasion has given me heartburn! I've now got 9 boxes of this vile stuff that I'm stuck with- as has my daughter! DO NOT BUY THIS RUBBISH!”
