“Horrid.
I haven't had a Twining Lapsang for many years, but fancied a smokey tea and saw this on the shelves of the supermarket.
Unfortunately after one cup I suspect I'll throw the rest away as this is not a nice blend. The smokey flavours taste very artificial and chemical. I'll have to get smokey teas from somewhere more specialised and just rely on Earl Grey for supermarket purchases”
“Very very disappointing. I'm sorry but these tea bags really don't taste at all like the original Lapsang which we miss very much! I'm afraid we will have to look elsewhere.”
“The reason for my dissatisfaction is the significant departure from the original Lapsang Souchong that I have enjoyed for years. Upon opening the box and brewing a cup of this new tea, I was met with an unpleasant surprise. The distinctively smoky flavoring used in this replacement tea is far from what I expected and enjoyed with the original Lapsang Souchong. Instead of the rich and natural smokiness that made your Lapsang Souchong so unique and delightful, I found myself tasting an overwhelming, artificial, and chemical smoke flavor that was not only disappointing but also quite unpleasant.”
“Twinnings lapsang used to be a delight.
This replacement is Absolutely awful - the aftertaste reminds me of bathroom cleaning products and vinyl flooring.
I wont be buying this again - id rather get genuine lapsang from those that care about the quality of their tea.”
“I understand these are the replacement for Lapsang Suchong. They are absolutely horrible. They have a pungent, overly smoky flavour with a disgusting after taste and none of the depth and complexity of Lapsang Suchong. They're going in the bin.”
