“I've given the replacement Lapsang Souchong more than a fair trial. However It's time to be honest with myself and conclude that it's bad as every one star review leads you to believe, possibly worse. The rich smokey aroma and flavour has been replaced by an unpleasant artificial chemical taste that grates with the palet and leaves a nasty aftertaste.

“Smells awful, almost synthetic, and tastes anaemic with a mildly chemical aftertaste. An insult to call this a replacement to the original, wonderful Lapsang blend.”

“If I could leave zero stars I would have. A complete abomination, especially compared with the lovely Twinings Lapsang Souchong that went before. Whoever blended this nightmare should have their taste-buds checked immediately.
Having now depleted our last Lapsang tea, we tried this so-called Lapsang-like tea for the first time today. One sip, the rest straight down the sink, remainder of the bags will go to compost, although I'm even hesitating over that idea.
A complete waste of money-Twinings, please get your act together and bring back the real thing!
