If you are just getting started with programming, and microcontrollers and have any aspirations for bigger and better things, this book is a great starting point. I did try not to use a "starting point" there as that's in the title of the book. So it does exactly what it says on the tin. The only issue I have found so far is: after each lesson, it gives you a "Challenge". This challenge is set to get you to think for yourself and enhance your understanding of what you've just learned. All of this sounds great, and the concept is ... But, I have really struggled with these and some tips on how to complete the challenge or even an explanation for each one at the back of the book would be great.

Useful introduction, very clearly written, but I found that the very early example (blinking LED) on page 48 didn't work. Probably Micropython has been changed since the book was written.

This is a terrific starter book - very clear and methodical. Within a day I had lit leds and in a couple of days, I managed the data logger using the pico temperature sensor. Small warning: if you get the pico w, you need to solder it to headers, and the onboard led needs different code than is in the book. Start withe the pico H and you won't go wrong.

A great book to learn all about the Pico & has a few projects to do. Also teaches you how to use certain shields that are compatible with said Pico.
