“I hadn't expected the book to contain the number of projects requiring extra equipment as it does. It would be useful if the product blurb could list the required equipment so that purchasers could buy this at the same time as the book.”
“This is a great book for beginners and seasoned Raspberry Pi enthusiasts alike. Contains detailed instructions for several projects and even includes a very good, well-illustrated section teaching beginners how to solder too.
The only thing I found lacking was a project or two that better utilised the added wifi functionality of the Pi Pico 'W'.”
“If you are just getting started with programming, and microcontrollers and have any aspirations for bigger and better things, this book is a great starting point. I did try not to use a "starting point" there as that's in the title of the book. So it does exactly what it says on the tin.
The only issue I have found so far is: after each lesson, it gives you a "Challenge". This challenge is set to get you to think for yourself and enhance your understanding of what you've just learned. All of this sounds great, and the concept is ... But, I have really struggled with these and some tips on how to complete the challenge or even an explanation for each one at the back of the book would be great.”
“Useful introduction, very clearly written, but I found that the very early example (blinking LED) on page 48 didn't work. Probably Micropython has been changed since the book was written.”
