“The case is good, and easy to assemble. The Pi is well secured in the case.
I have two problems with the case, though:
1. Air flow: There is an opening to let air into the case, just above the PoE HAT fan. The problem is that there are to few exits, so air gets trapped inside the case. The result is that the fan runs almost constantly to keep the Pi cooled.
2. The top screws are too short to keep the lid securely on. On two of my three cases, the lid is barely hanging on as the screws only just reach the "bushings"/nuts.
I have one of my Pis on my work desk, and to make the airflow a little better (and the fan noise less intrusive for me and my colleagues), I removed the wall on the SD card end. This makes the fan run a little less frequent, but it is still running much more often than when the Pi was running naked (no case). Two long openings over the "thepihut.com" text and the HDMI ports would increase airflow and help keep the RPi cooler.
There is definitely a need for this case, and if the issues could be addressed then this would be the best option for Pis with PoE HATs.”
“Works excellent how you would expect I.e poe powers the pi, annoying that it blocks off the whole gpio when it's only using a couple of pins to power the fan, also the screws is the pie hut case recommended with this setup as pictured are too short to tighten up so In the space of a week I've had 2 of 8 drop out never to be seen again”
