“The installation of the PiOS follows the same methodolgy as previous models. The Pi5 has a special installation version available and I used that to set it up. It gets hot so you will need a heatsink and I used the solid aluminium block type as I wanted it to be quiet. I haven't applied it to anything specific yet so I don't know how it will perform but it has to be faster than all the others right?”
“This 8GB Pi5 runs rings around a heavily overclocked Pi4B! I've set it up as a desktop PC replacement with a Pimoroni NVMe Base and Lexar 1TB NM790 SSD (870MB/s reads!). It handles everything I do with ease except for really heavy duty tasks like AAA gaming and video conversion.
