“My recent order for a pair of Pi5's was to replace a pair of Pi4's which are running my duplicated Freeswitch PBX. The extra computing power should allow better handling of video calls through to the 'net. (the Pi4's released has in turn allowed the retirement of my last 32 bit Pi2's).”
“The Pi 5 is better than I expected. The 2.4GHz cpu runs at the same speed as my old GIGABYTE BRIX mini PC, yet while that was terribly laggy while web browsing the Pi 5 runs flawlessly. I was also impressed with how quickly the Pi 5 boots from the sd card, just a matter of seconds, into the official Raspberry Pi OS.
The lack of audio socket hasn't been a problem as I've had no trouble connecting to a Bluetooth mini amp. My BT keyboard also works without issue, even during login, but my BT Logitech mouse seems to disrupt the other BT devices so I'm stuck with using a wired mouse.”
