“Received today however discovered that it will not fit when the raspberry pi heatsink/fan is also fitted. It did not come with a larger header. I feel like this is an oversight, or it should at least be mentioned that it will require GPIO pin extension and 4 longer standoffs.”

“This is a phenomenal bit of kit.
It made my Pi sound rich and warm, and along with the kksb case the phonos are easily accessible and it even makes you tube sound great.
But he best thing about this hat is that is so easy to assemble onto your Pi.
You just push the 40 pin GPIO socket straight onto the Pi's GPIO socket, and Voila!
That's it! No cables, no fiddly bits that can break! Just squeeze them together!
It's so satisfying!
