“I use Raspberry Pi's for a number of growing applications, usually physically building them into some project. The 'all in one' RPi 400 is a very convenient way to develop code and experiment, before transferring to the destination RPi.
Good quality keyboard, mouse, power supply, and all the necessary leads. Seems rugged too.”
“I have only tried my new purchase while connected to a home TV. I have yet to find a monitor at a price that matches the computer itself.
My main problem, using the device for internet use, is that my existing accounts use strong passwords, stored in an iCloud keychain. Without access to this, I am stuck. Otherwise, the Pi 400 is a great way to learn about computers and coding, for anybody not needing mobility and with a limited budget.
I may look for a school or children's organisation to give mine, unless I can find a particular use for it.”
“Bought for daughter (and myself if I’m honest) and last minute home schooling needs. It’s been perfect.
I grew up on the ZX81 and love stuff like this.”
“Great piece of kit. The numbers of Pi 3 & 4s that I've bought and then had to go and buy extra keyboads and mice for - no longer needed. RPi400 for me from now on (*)!
It currently rests on / shares a TV with my Atari MegaSTE.
(*) OK, unless it's an old hardware hack like the Pi1541 which only works with a Pi3!”
“Perfect little computer, ideal as a spare and many other uses, all the grandchildren and family will play it to death, very pleased and super fast delivery.”
“Brilliant! A couple of additional USB ports and/or a card reader would be nice but an add-on hub solves my needs (tho spoils the clean athsetics a bit)”
“An excellent piece of kit for the beginner computer coder. The keyboard doesn't run hot and is surprisingly warm to touch. Access to the GPIO pins will require an additional purchase of a Pi-T-Cobbler and ribbon cable. This kit will extends the pins to a breakout board. (See Chapter 6 for exercises for physical computing). It would have been helpful to have a few components included in the kit to work through the exercises. There is a minor problem with the WiFi dropping out, but this may be a software glitch or power saving option. The Beginner's guide handbook (4th Edition) may confuse the beginner in some areas. For example Chapter 4 which covers Scratch Version 3 exercises points to missing files, you will need to use some imagination and use alternative background scenes and sprites. Overall a useful piece of kit to learn about computer software coding.”
