The Pi Hut has a great online store. They processed and sent my order of the Raspberry Pi 4 Model B 8GB to me very quickly. The setting up of the Raspberry Pi was very easy, just having to download the firmware from the Raspberry Pi website then copy the image file on to an SD card. I installed the Pi in a case then connect it all up. The change to micro HDMI sockets was my main concern as these connectors are really small and fragile so they have to be used carefully, and now there's two so you can have dual monitors! After boot up the initial setup of the user interface, the settings and connecting to WIFI is very easy with no problems at all. To test the performance I opened up the Chrome browser and opened Youtube. It was immediately obvious that the performance over older Pi models has improved a tremendous amount. Youtube video playback is so much smoother than ever now. Having 8GB of RAM means that you can run even bigger applications or have even more applications open at once or you can set the Pi up to use the RAM as temporary disk space. I think the Raspberry Pi 4 Model B 8GB is excellent, the retail price is reasonable considering what your getting. If I had to improve anything I would have full size HDMI sockets and a barrel jack type power connector. This would cost a bit more and take up a bit more board space so it would lose its form factor but I would still buy it again.

I have bought this in order to install octoprint on it and control my 3d printer. Of course, I knew it was overshoot but I chose an end version, so I shouldn't worry about updates in the near future. It did not work in spite of a lot of time and effort to make it work. In order to make time-lapses and video, I have bought an 8 MPix pi camera for the raspberry and the disappointment only increased. This is my second raspberry pi and of course by now I have spend all the time and money I was ready to risk, so it is goodbye for me and a suggestion to go for something else for people who are more interested in results than wasting time

What can I say, I've had PC laptops less capable than this. This is now on a par with a low spec Laptop, and quite capable of running Kubuntu with a reasonable set of applications.
