“Great board seems much faster than my Pi3 but not very supported at the moment (as always with the new Pi releases) Ive only managed to get one image to work so far and had no luck with emulation software but im sure it will be supported in time.”
“I use my Pi for collecting and collating information from my Solar heating and storage system. My old Pi used to struggle when I all 4 energy devices were sending updates in real time to it. The new Pi4 with the additional memory does not even skip a beat. Great upgrade. Great price.”
“I've added this RPI 4 to my three others including an original model b. All continue to work well with my home automation.
The RPi 4 works verytwell with an old HD TV using a mini HDMI cable, so less bulky than the older HDMI.
Installation of raspbian was a breeze and with the new USB power supply there are none of those irritating low voltage warnings. I had a look at the early desktop and apps, but as I'll be running this PI as a headless wonder this was more out of curiosity than any real desire to use them.
All in all a nice little box of tricks and with the top end of memory it should surge along just fine for a good time yet.”
“We ordered two items one for me and one for the company (the company ordered it though) and it had some serious heat issues where just basic operation was pushing it past 75 degrees. Other than that, we use it to power some monitoring systems in our company and I use mine for robotics programming.”
“Takes a lot of power so needs a special adapter, most battery packs and phone chargers will not work. Runs too hot and suffers from throttling. Something of an ambitious departure from Pi's usual easy to use and versatile previous models. The heat is an issue when integrating into projects so would suggest combining with older models.”
