I've added this RPI 4 to my three others including an original model b. All continue to work well with my home automation. The RPi 4 works verytwell with an old HD TV using a mini HDMI cable, so less bulky than the older HDMI. Installation of raspbian was a breeze and with the new USB power supply there are none of those irritating low voltage warnings. I had a look at the early desktop and apps, but as I'll be running this PI as a headless wonder this was more out of curiosity than any real desire to use them. All in all a nice little box of tricks and with the top end of memory it should surge along just fine for a good time yet.

We ordered two items one for me and one for the company (the company ordered it though) and it had some serious heat issues where just basic operation was pushing it past 75 degrees. Other than that, we use it to power some monitoring systems in our company and I use mine for robotics programming.

Very good upgrade from the previous models.

Takes a lot of power so needs a special adapter, most battery packs and phone chargers will not work. Runs too hot and suffers from throttling. Something of an ambitious departure from Pi's usual easy to use and versatile previous models. The heat is an issue when integrating into projects so would suggest combining with older models.

The usb c issue and the heat problem needing a dedicated fan was an issue for me. Yes they can be resolved by buying a dedicated power supply and a fan, but this is information I needed before purchase. It shouldn't be up to the community to point these things out. Extra power of this system not worth the hassle at the moment for me.

Too many issues to be more than 3 stars: 1. Had to consult internet to solve boot failures first off - simple, but info should be provided to avoid this. 2. HDMI0 port seems to have loose connection - needs pushing in hard before monitor recognises cable is attached. 3 Bluetooth unstable - randomly disconnects devices, needs to be power cycled to get reconnected. 4. Screen resolution set incorrectly at 1024x768 after reboots, no options for anything higher offered by screen config utility. Considering return it, hoping these faults don't affect all of these.
