“Addition of 2 USB 3 sockets welcome. Runs hot so cooling is advised. Will be a bit warm in the official Pi case so an open type case would be better. Explaining Computers .com has video advising about cooling techniques. Waiting for a metal case to arrive so I can modify it to cool mines down as much as possible. Ovarall, I'm pleased with this upgrade.”
“Yes still testing but is a good piece of kit, if you use the official 4 case, it is a good fit and so doesn't allow any airflow so you need to drill some holes and add a heatsink. I drilled a 20mm over the SOC and then added 6 No 8mm holes around the sides mainly the GPIO side but one near the USB2 ports. Take the PI safely out of the way first. You need airflow.”
“This review may seem somewhat harsh because the Pi is an amazing product, however I have been disappointed with this model. I have two issues with Pi 4, it runs very hot and should come with a cooling fan or at minimum an effective heat sync. The dual monitor facility just doesn't work. Other wise this is a fantastic computer!!”
“Raspberry Pi 4 itself is very good.
Service from PiHut was poor. It took four weeks for this to turn up. Several emails were exchanged with them and I was told that it had been dispatched and would turn up soon.
After 3 weeks nothing showed up so more emails were exchanged and another was “dispatched”.
One week later this finally turned up.
The package had a post mark on it saying it was sent the previous day. The PiHut is based approximately 10 miles from where I live.
I suspect that the PiHut had run out of stock and were awaiting a fresh delivery.
A little honesty next time perhaps?
Shame really as I will not be using them in the future.”
“The wifi password menu was ok but the noobs menu was faulty. The recommended os was the first option but then a warning message said if I continue the preloaded card will be overwritten. This is illogical so I aborted the start up and contacted support but to no avail!!! Help is required.”
