I've used this to set up HedgeHogCam - with an Infra-Red floodlight (needs to be a fairly powerful one) I can watch hedgehogs eating the food I put out for them each night. Works well, and I'm glad I bought it.

If only every company had the motivation and drive of the Raspberry Pi Foundation. PiHut had a nicely discounted price when I purchased this, an added bonus. The camera functions exactly as expected, perfectly within parameters, comes with a useful extra in the form of a slip of blue filter plastic. I had to look up why that is included with PiCam NoIR as I received exactly the same addition with the V1 several years ago. https://www.raspberrypi.org/blog/whats-that-blue-thing-doing-here/ This camera has no infra-red filter on the lens, so depending on your specific project this may not be the ideal PiCam module for you. Maybe buy one of the standard modules too, that way you can experiment. Great product

Purchased to go with my Pi 3 B+ to experiment, amazing clarity. Thinking now of buying Pi zero (W) with smaller camera to use as home security - far cheaper, more storage and more control than off the shelf security cams.

purchased this for use in low light conditions but it gives up long before my standard logitec web cam. maybe I don't understand how to set it up for low light use. Also the colour balance is awful again it maybe the way that I have it setup.

It's the default camera for modern pi, but without a filter so better in low light. I am using it with an oldish refractor telescope, and after removing the lens works well. Some minor difficulties with focusing, place piece of slightly off clear plastic film across the eyepiece and focus on that, replace with the picam. The correct focus for the picam is close to that point.
