“It is not just a 'starter'. It may be exactly what you need. If you connect your door buzzer to your mobile, you do not need a pi 4. pi w0 will do the job just fine, for a lot less.
What I love is that I can write code on my main dev machine (Intel, Ubuntu) debug, check, test, and the exact same stuff will go on the pi. Even compilation if needed. (Not as it happens; but I use mostly Java, some C libraries, Maven for build and control, Git....and it is all the same. Everywhere. Quite lovely.”
