“This is a great base for building IOT gadgets.
I have so far built an internet radio into the cace of an old upcycled broken radio. I have also used another on to build a Amature Radio HotSpot for DMR & D-Star. The only downside is that ypu can only buy one at a time. I would have bought 6 if I could as I have many other projects in mind. Unfortunately one can no longer buy small SD cards as most of my projects can run on a 4gig or 8gig SD card.”
“Using to make an HLS audio streaming device to the local network. perfectly capable of recording/compressing/hosting the stream. I think this is probably the cheapest device where I can also do all that using open source software. Took me about an hour from plugging the board it to having an HLS stream running. (using FFMPEG and Apache2). Postage was very quick, the PiHut service was good”
“Pi Zero W has all I need for a headless control system -- 512 GB RAM, SD card drive, WiFi and multiple IO devices (like UART, SPI, various GPIO modes on multiple pins...) on the 40-pin header.
Also, HDMI and USB if you decide to use it as a stand-alone system.”
